On Monday, juniors, seniors and first class had a special Halloween treat. They were treated to an amazing show at Friars Gate theatre in Kilmallock. There was singing and dancing, ghosts and goblins and some of the children even became actors for the day. It was a really enjoyable experience and got us all into the spirit of Halloween! 🎃👻🎃

🎉 **Congratulations and well done to Mr. Fitzgerald, Mrs. Heelan, the staff and parents of Herbertstown NS, and everyone involved in the 125th anniversary commemoration of James Fitzgerald, a Herbertstown native who won an All-Ireland medal with the London team in 1901!** 🏅👏

📚🇮🇪 A very special commemoration, beautifully organised, with so much fascinating local history shared and celebrated. It was a wonderful opportunity to honour our local heritage and remember an important part of our history. 🇮🇪📚

🏫 We here at Knocklong National School were delighted to be part of this special occasion. A memorable day enjoyed by all! 💚🤍💚

✨ Our beautiful sacred space is lighting up our corridor, adorned with lots of angels in celebration of the **Feast of the Guardian Angels on October 2nd**. 👼🤍

A lovely reminder of the angels who watch over and guide us each day. 🙏✨

Celebrating 800 years of St. Francis of Assisi, our wonderful primary school community came together for a special whole-school nature walk!

Embracing St. Francis’s deep love for creation and all living things, our students and staff explored the beauty of the natural world right on our doorstep. From our youngest infants to our senior classes, everyone enjoyed a peaceful day of connection, gratitude, and fresh air as we reflected on our role as stewards of the Earth.

Thank you to all the staff and students who made this beautiful celebration of nature and community so memorable! 🌿🐾✨

🍂🌿 **Autumn Equinox** 🌿🍂

What better way to celebrate the Autumn Equinox than with a lovely nature walk around the hill? 🌳🍁

We enjoyed exploring our beautiful surroundings, getting to know the trees 🌳, berries 🫐 and all the wonderful signs of nature around us. 🍂🐦🌿

We even managed to collect a few special treasures along the way to add to our **nature table – An Bord Dúlra**. 🪵🍃🍁

And the weather was a **massive bonus**! ☀️😊 Perfect conditions for getting outdoors, exploring and learning together. 💚

🍂🌳🌿 **Happy Autumn Equinox!** 🌿🌳🍂
