# 🔬🌟 School Science Fair & Green Schools Celebration 🌟🌱

We are delighted to invite families, friends, and all members of our school community to our **Science Fair** on **Friday, 12th June**, from **1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.** in the **School Hall**. 🎉

This is a very special event as we celebrate two fantastic achievements for our school! 🏆

🥇 We are proud recipients of a **Gold Award in the Curious Minds Programme** in recognition of our commitment to excellence in the teaching and learning of **Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM)**.

🚶‍♀️🚲🚌 We will also be celebrating our recent **Green Schools Transport Award**, recognising the wonderful efforts of our pupils, staff and families in promoting sustainable travel.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of exciting exhibits and hands-on activities, including:

🧲 Magnetism
🐝 The Life of Bees
💨 Wind Power
💻 Coding and Robotics
🦴 The Human Skeleton
🧱 Build on our LEGO Wall
🔍 And much, much more!

Our pupils have worked incredibly hard and are excited to share their learning, discoveries and creativity with you. 🌈✨

We warmly invite all families, friends and members of our school community to come along and join the celebration of science, innovation and sustainability. 🌍💚

Today was a very special day as our school was proudly awarded the **Green Flag for Travel** at Fota Wildlife Park! 🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️🚌🌍💚

This wonderful achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication and enthusiasm shown by our Green Schools Committee and Ms O'Sullivan over the past two years. Through their efforts, they have helped raise awareness of safe, sustainable and environmentally friendly travel options within our school and wider community. 🌱♻️

♻️💚 Support Our School & Help the Environment! 💚♻️

A huge thank you to everyone who has already supported our new Re-turn Bin organised by our fantastic Parents Association! Thanks to your generosity, we have already raised over €45 through donated cans and bottles. 🎉👏

If you have any empty plastic bottles or cans with the Re-turn logo, please consider donating them to our school by placing them in the Re-turn Bin. Every donation helps raise valuable funds for our school while also playing an important role in keeping our local environment clean and free from litter. 🌍🌱

📍 The Re-turn Bin is available outside the school gate during opening hours from **8:50am – 2:30pm**

Your support, no matter how big or small, makes a real difference. Together we can support our school and care for our environment at the same time! ♻️💚

We recently took part in an SEAI workshop based on energy and where it comes from as well as fossil fuels, climate change and ways we can reduce our cardon emissions. Thank you to the SEAI facilitators for coming to our school and for teaching the children about these important topics!

Our senior classes enjoyed a morning of orienteering in Rostellan Woods today followed by lunch and an ice-cream treat from Rostellan Farm 🍦

Well done to James, Cathal and Ewan who came first in the orienteering event 🥇

We look forward to more outdoor activities in the coming weeks such as GAA, the Cork City Sports, our annual Sports Day and our beach walk to name a few 😃
