✨🏫Back to School! 🏫✨

We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone back to Kilsheelan NS next week and, for the first time, welcoming our pupils through the doors of our newly revamped, state-of-the-art school building!

After a long journey, we are delighted to begin the new school year with fantastic new and upgraded facilities for our pupils and staff. We can’t wait to see everyone on Thursday and begin an exciting new chapter for our school community. 💙💛

🏃‍♂️Supporting Carol’s Legacy Run 🏃‍♂️
We were proud to support Brendan Walsh as he took part in Carol’s Legacy Run, a fundraiser held in memory of his mother, Carol.
Brendan ran from Grangemockler to the Bon Secours Hospital in Cork, raising funds for a number of cancer charities. As a school community, we were delighted to contribute €500, collected by pupils, staff and families, in memory of Carol, a former pupil of Kilsheelan NS.
We congratulate Brendan on this incredible achievement and thank everyone who supported this worthy cause.

👋 Farewell, 6th Class! 👋
Today we said goodbye to our wonderful 6th Class pupils as they walked through the school gates for the final time. It has been a privilege to watch them grow, learn, achieve, and make lasting memories throughout their years in Kilsheelan NS.

We are incredibly proud of the kind, talented, and resilient young people they have become. As they begin an exciting new chapter in secondary school, we wish them every success, happiness, and opportunity in the years ahead.

Thank you for the memories, the laughter, and the positive impact you have had on our school community. You will always be part of the Kilsheelan NS family.

🏅 Sports Day 2026 🏅

What a fantastic day we had at our annual Sports Day! The excitement began with our colourful parade, setting the scene for a day full of fun, teamwork and friendly competition.

From thrilling races to cheering on classmates, everyone gave their best effort and showed great sportsmanship throughout the day. A special highlight was the visit from the ice cream van, which provided a well-deserved treat for all after a busy morning of activities!

Congratulations to our overall winners, who were crowned champions after a closely contested competition. Well done to every pupil for making the day such a memorable success.

👮🚓 Community Garda Visit 🚓👮

We were delighted to welcome our local Community Gardaí to the school recently.

The pupils enjoyed learning about the important role Gardaí play in keeping our communities safe, asking lots of thoughtful questions, and getting a closer look at some of the equipment used in their work. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn more about safety, respect, and community spirit.

A big thank you to An Garda Síochána for taking the time to visit us and for making the experience so engaging and enjoyable for all!

🗣️Debating Competition at Sisters of Charity NS 🗣️
Our debate teams proudly represented the school at a debating competition in Sisters of Charity NS today. They spoke with great confidence, presented their arguments clearly, and showed excellent teamwork and respect throughout the competition.

We are very proud of how well all of our pupils performed and the maturity they displayed while debating. To round off a fantastic day, the teams enjoyed a well-deserved visit to Fetch for a special treat!

🌊3rd–6th Class Adventure in Dunmore East🌊
A fantastic day was had by our 3rd–6th Class pupils at Dunmore East Adventure Centre. From climbing, archery, kayaking, and caving to tackling the Wibit course, there was no shortage of fun and adventure!

The children showed great enthusiasm, teamwork, and determination throughout the day. Memories made that will last a lifetime!

🦖 Junior & Senior Infants Explore Jurassic Newpark! 🦕

Our Junior and Senior Infants had a fantastic day on their school tour to Jurassic Newpark today!

From meeting life-sized dinosaurs to exploring the many attractions and activities, there was great excitement and plenty of smiles throughout the day. The children had great fun, made wonderful memories, and enjoyed every minute of their adventure.
