The Hartigan family recently lost their home in a fire after 51 years together. They have given so much to their community in Powerstown and now need our help to rebuild their lives. Today we had our final assembly of the year, where the Sports Day medals were presented to our winning colour teams!

🥉 3rd Place: Red
🥈 2nd Place: Orange
🥇 1st Place: Violet

We were also delighted to celebrate our U13 Camogie girls, who received their county medals in recognition of their fantastic achievement.

Congratulations to all our medal winners and to everyone who took part throughout the year. Well done on your hard work, teamwork, and sporting spirit! 🎉

Our final school tour of the year took place yesterday as 4th Class headed off to the wonderful Wexford Heritage Park. Despite the rainy weather, the children had an absolute ball!

They journeyed through Ireland’s past, experiencing life from the Stone Age through to the Viking era and beyond, discovering how people lived throughout the centuries.

A particular highlight of the day was meeting falconer Jim O’Connor, whose fascinating birds of prey captivated everyone.

It was a fantastic day of learning, exploration and fun, and the smiles on everyone’s faces said it all. Take a look at some of our photos from the day! 📸😊

⭐ Congratulations to our wonderful 6th Classes on their Graduation Mass this evening. They were a credit to themselves and their families, and it was a beautiful celebration of their time in Powerstown N.S.

Throughout their years with us, they have represented our school with pride, kindness, and enthusiasm. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and the young people they have become.

We wish them every success and happiness as they begin the next chapter of their journey. Best of luck in the years ahead – we know you will continue to do great things! ⭐

Fifth and Sixth Class have come to the end of their 10-week Say Yes to Languages programme. We have thoroughly enjoyed learning Spanish over the past ten weeks, and have gained lots of new vocabulary, phrases, and cultural knowledge. A huge thank you to our facilitator, Elaina, who has been wonderful throughout the programme. Her enthusiasm, expertise, and engaging lessons made learning Spanish a fun and rewarding experience for everyone. ¡Muchas gracias, Elaina!

Congratulations to CJ Kelly Gorey on winning our first Summer Powerstown Chess competition. Classes from 3rd to 6th competed over the last few weeks. Huge congratulations to the runner up, Lukas Sabockis, from 4th Class. The final 8 also included: Philip Commins, Noah Purcell, Tom O' Donovan, Matthew Duffy , Órla Egan and Leah O Shea.

School tour season is in full swing, and our students have been making wonderful memories on their recent trips!

Our 5th and 6th Class pupils had an incredible time at Dunmore East Adventure Centre, where they enjoyed a wide range of exciting water activities and team games.

3rd Class spent a fantastic day at SETU, taking part in a variety of fun and engaging activities.

Meanwhile, Junior and Senior Infants thoroughly enjoyed their visit to the Kingfisher Club Waterford, where they had a brilliant day filled with games, activities, and lots of smiles.

1st and 2nd Class headed to The Watershed in Kilkenny, where they had great fun on the inflatables and enjoyed a swimming session.
