☀️🍦 Summer Fun in Preschool! 🍦☀️

This week, our preschool children have been exploring the wonderful theme of Summer and all the exciting activities that come with it! We chatted about sunny days, trips to the beach, holidays, ice cream treats, and all the fun adventures we can enjoy during the summer months.

A highlight of the week was our very own Ice Cream Parlour, where the children immersed themselves in imaginative play. They loved taking on the roles of customers and ice cream servers, creating delicious pretend treats and enjoying lots of conversations and laughter with their friends.

We also got creative with a range of summer and ice cream-themed art activities. The children especially enjoyed exploring our ice cream Play-Doh, commenting on how soft and realistic it felt. The sensory experience encouraged curiosity, creativity, and lots of hands-on learning.

Through these fun activities, the children were developing important skills in communication, social interaction, imaginative thinking, and creativity while learning through play.

On Friday, May’s mummy joined us in The Beehive Room to discuss her very important job of helping airlines buy airplanes. Thank you to Julie-Ann for taking the time to come into us.

We had a fantastic week filled with smiles, laughter, and plenty of summer fun! ☀️

Have a lovely weekend! 🐝

🍦🍨 This Week in the Honey Bee Room 🍨🍦
This week, our Honey Bees explored early mathematics through a fun and engaging ice cream theme!
We began by developing our early maths skills through a sensory ice cream gloop activity. The children enjoyed pouring, scooping, spooning, and measuring the gloop, helping them explore concepts such as volume, quantity, and comparison in a hands-on and meaningful way. This sensory experience also encouraged fine motor development, language skills, and imaginative play.
As the week continued, we introduced number recognition and early counting through the song "5 Ice Creams in the Ice Cream Shop." The children used ice cream props while singing and counting, making the learning experience interactive and enjoyable. Together, we practised counting forwards and backwards, recognising numbers, and developing an understanding of how numbers change as items are added or taken away.
The children were fully engaged throughout the activities and had great fun learning through play. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they explored mathematical concepts in such a creative and exciting way!🍦
We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend

This week in the Honey Bee Room we had a roaring time exploring all things zoo animals! 🦁🐘🦒
The children enjoyed chatting about their favourite animals and discussing which animals we might see on a trip to the zoo. These conversations encouraged lots of language development, turn taking and communication skills in a fun and age-appropriate way.
We got very creative during our activities, making fantastic lions and using salt dough to create our own zoo animals. The children loved using their imaginations and developing their fine motor skills through hands-on play.
Each day we learned and sang a different zoo animal song, which brought lots of smiles, dancing and laughter to the room while helping to build confidence, listening skills and vocabulary. 🎶🐵
We hope everyone has a lovely and relaxing bank holiday weekend! ☀️
