See pinned schedule for full listings. Our vision is to promote an integrated adult education service with each strand of that service contributing to a much needed educational resource within the Cork region. We adapt our range of programmes and incorporate all aspects of Adult Learning within a unified whole. This involves the merging and integration of services between Community Education, including the Back to Education Initiative, Literacy, Traveller Training, Guidance, VTOS, Upskilling and Training. The challenge is to empower individuals and to enable them to fully participate in education and training, by equipping them with the skills and knowledge required to be an active member of the learning group and thus becoming a more active and fully functioning citizen within their communities. The Adult Education Service provides education and training from Level 1 through to Level 6, under the National Framework of Qualifications. For more information click Level 1 to Level 10 progression. Participants can enter at any level and progress at their own pace. Our service is committed to developing and continuing partnerships with other agencies. We have strong working relations with partners in Cork and acknowledge the value of the “partnership approach”. We believe that this approach can achieve maximum benefits for greater numbers of clients in our area.

World Literacy Day ~ September 8th
'...literacy is not just one single skill. It is about your overall independence and your ability to navigate modern life with confidence.' Ester Mackey

It's nice to know about gardening or how to send a message in a WhatsApp group , but is that really what our courses are about? Adult, community and FET education is about empowering people to make informed choices relating to their own financial well-being, to take active ownership of their impact on the environment, to have confidence to advocate for their own health needs, to identify how the media influences our thought processes, to be safe in an increasingly digital and online world.

When you look at our list of courses, can you see the bigger picture?
Can you see the broader definition of literacy?
This is Adult Literacy for Life, this is the ALL strategy at community level. This is Clonakilty FET.

The proceeds from our Learner Art Sale continue to benefit our local community. Dancing is believed to significantly improve memory, mood, and cognitive function in people living with dementia. We are so pleased to see the funds our learners raised being put to such great use.

It was another great afternoon of art, music, singing and Chair Zumba with Flav yesterday at The Friendly Fuchsia Café in Clonakilty.

With thanks to Catriona, Brid and all the students at Cork College of FET - Clonakilty Centre and their fundraising Art Sale earlier this year for The Friendly Fuchsia Cafe, volunteers have been able to organise care packs, arts supplies and Chair Zumba for all the visitors there.

Everyone had great fun yesterday, smiles, movement and laughter right throughout the room 💙🎶

For more information on the Friendly Fuchsia Café please contact Martha at 087 464 2989.
