Dear Parents

The Government and NCSE have just announced that the Parents Notify Portal is now open until 1st September for anyone wishing to apply for a place in a special ASD class for Primary or Secondary school for their child for the 2027-2028 school year.

Even if you do not require a place for your child you might know someone that does so please share this with them as the process has changed for the next school year.

Where parents/guardians are awaiting documentation or reports they should not delay contacting the NCSE via the Parents Notify portal by 1st September 2026. As above, documentation can be supplied as soon as practicable after initial notification has been made to the NCSE.

With the warm weather and more people heading to the coast, it’s worth knowing which jellyfish you might come across around Ireland this summer.

Some species, such as the Lion’s Mane Jellyfish, can deliver very painful stings, while others are completely harmless.

✅ If you’re heading for a swim:
• Keep an eye out for jellyfish in the water.
• Avoid touching stranded jellyfish, as they can still sting.
• If stung, leave the water safely and seek assistance from a lifeguard if available.
