Lauren, Lucy and all in Mighty Minds took part in the Carepacks organisation this week.

Their class is full of children who are so kind and caring towards others and they thought it would be a great idea if they took part in creating two Carepacks for care homes and nursing homes this year. Each child contributed to the Carepacks by bringing in little bits to pack into them e.g. blankets, socks, toiletries, magazines etc.

Carepack.ie is a voluntary organisation that runs a kindness campaign, connecting residents in nursing homes and care homes with kind members of the public who will send them a little gift for Christmas.

Lauren thought this would be a great idea for the children to understand the idea of care packs and why they can be so important for some people out there! It builds children’s empathy and kindness, teaches responsibility and effort, gives a sense of joy and promotes gratitude!
