The Purple Penguin Creche

The Purple Penguin Creche Providing high-quality childcare for children aged 6 months to 12 years since 2004. Welcome to the Purple Penguin Crèche!

For the past ten years, we have been in providing high quality childcare for children aged six months up to twelve years of age. We provide a stimulating environment that caters for the holistic development of your child. It is important for us that they feel at home and can learn through their play. We want it so parents can feel at ease when leaving their child in our care. We operate an open do

or policy to all parents/guardians who leave their children with us. Any member of our staff or management is always available to talk in person or take a call if you have any concerns regarding your child during the day. It is important for us to get to know not only the child, but also the family that surrounds them so we can work together to give the child the best start in life!

This week, in the Toddler room, the children have been exploring our “All About Me” theme through a variety of creative and playful activities.💕 They enjoyed colouring, choosing and sticking different clothes onto their characters, while also learning about different parts of the body. 👀👃👂
We also explored an All About Me tuff tray with dolls, clothes, brushes and mirrors. The children enjoyed dressing and caring for the dolls while learning about body parts, clothing and simple self-care routines. 👗
Through songs such as “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes,” the children were encouraged to identify body parts, build body awareness and enjoy movement together. 🤚🦶
As All About Me was our theme it was a perfect time to let all children get to know everyone really well including our new children, We made a poster for our room with all children’s and teachers handprints with their names making awareness of all the children / teachers in the room for the upcoming year. 💕
It was a fun and engaging way to support communication, creativity and fine motor skills❤️🩵

Salad spinner painting.
Through this activity the children learnt colours, about mixing colours, they worked on fine and gross motor skills, and had a sense of awe and amazement.

They have been doing such a fantastic job singing our Circle Time songs, engaging with their Montessori work, and enjoying lots of painting and messy play activities.
