Many of the children in ECCE are going on holiday over the next few weeks, so this is the theme of the week in the cabin. They have made their own passports and a huge aeroplane. We have talked about our own holidays and shown each other photos with our families. We have also done lots of role-play, pretending to check in at the airport, packing our luggage (we had a checklist) and flying on a plane.

Last week in Paula and Monica’s class we decided to travel around the world. We started by packing our suitcase and preparing our passport, which we have been filling with stamps from the countries we have “visited” through this week’s activities.
During these days we built pyramids in the sand table, like the ones in Egypt; made a collage of Big Ben; painted the silhouettes of Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty using sponges; used playdough and straws to recreate the Atomium from Belgium; played ice hockey with our fingers, a very famous sport in Canada; and made a pizza to finish the week, almost as delicious as the ones they make in Italy.
Our passport is getting full of stamps!
