Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig oraibh ! Bhí Seachtain na Gaeilge den scoth againn in SNB i mbliana. Bhí ceol agus craic le cloisteáil ar fud na scoile. Bhí iarracht mór á dhéanamh ag gach éinne Gaeilge a labhairt agus bhí muid an-bhródúil as na páistí.Bhí eachtraí éagsùla ar siúl i rith na seachtaine cosúil le Bingó, Tráth na gceist agus Tóraíocht Taisce. Chríochnaigh muid an seachtain inné, le ceiliúradh mór sa halla. Bhuail an scoil ar fad le chéile ag damhsa, ag canadh agus ag seinm ceoil. Bhí glas le feiceáil i ngach áit agus bhí craic is spraoi againn go léir. ☘️☘️☘️
Happy St.Patrick's Day to you all. We had a fantastic Seachtain na Gaeilge in SNB this year. Music and craic could be heard all over the school. Everyone made a huge effort speaking Irish and we were very proud of all the children. Lots of events took place during the week such as Bingo, Table quizzes and Treasure Hunts. Seachtain na Gaeilge finished yesterday with a big celebration in the hall. We dances, sang and played music. The place was a sea of green and we all had great fun!☘️☘️☘️

We celebrated World Book Day on Thursday the 5th of March. Our focus was on books and the joy of reading and listening to stories. Children brought in their favourite book and discussed it in class. We had ‘DEAR’ time- Drop Everything and Read. We also had buddy reading where older children read to younger children. A particular activity we all enjoyed was a whole school focus on a beautiful story called ‘Milo imagines the World.

We took part in the Food Dudes programme the same week we had Wellbeing Week as we felt it worked well with our focus on healthy eating. The children got to taste a wide selection of fruit and vegetables and lots of taste buds were awoken!

We celebrated Wellbeing Week from the 9th-13th of February. Our theme was ‘Healthy Mind, Healthy Body’. We focused on looking after our minds, using the 5 for 5 breathing technique to help us remember to think of positive things when we are worried or anxious. Ray Ryan of Mindset Ireland spoke to us about this technique and kindly talked us through using this technique. We talked about what ‘Mental Health' means and also about how we can 'be kind to our minds' by getting enough sleep, eating 'good mood' food, exercising, connecting with our friends and family, using kind 'self-talk', practising gratitude and mindfulness and developing healthy habits. We took part in lovely mindful activities and really enjoyed the week.

On Sunday the 8th of February our Fifth and Sixth class children were part of the 2026 Dublin Peace Proms Choir. The concert was held in the Simmonscourt Pavilion in the RDS. It was a truly wonderful experience from start to finish as the children sang their hearts out. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by children, teachers and parents. 🎶🎤

Great news from our Olympic handball team! The seven girls from 5th and 6th class represented SNB in the Kildare finals in the National Sports Campus in Blanchardstown on Wednesday. The team won all three of their group stage matches and made the final. It was a nail biting finish with both teams evenly matched and the scoreboard all even at the full time whistle . Three minutes of extra time saw our girls score two more goals and secure gold medals and a place at the Leinster finals in March! We are so proud of Abbie, Jenny, Lily, Lucy, Mia, Renata and Sia! Well done to the girls and their coaches 🤩🎉🤾

A very big thank you to all the boys and girls who contributed to this year’s Christmas Shoebox appeal. Last Friday, 74 boxes left our school beginning their journey to those that need them most. What a great success for Team Hope Shoebox Appeal. Well done and thank you to all.
