Wednesday – Hall Time ⛹️

On Wednesday, we went up to the big hall for the very last time this year. The children were so excited and thoroughly enjoyed making the most of all the equipment. They loved playing with the balls, exploring the tunnels and having fun with the hula hoops. It was a lovely way to spend time together and create some special memories before the end of the year.

On Tuesday, we had a fab time showing off our dance skills with Just Dance! The children loved dancing along to their favourite songs and had so much fun moving and grooving together. Of course, we had to do the Waka Waka in honour of the World Cup, and it was a huge hit with everyone. The children had an absolute ball and there were lots of laughs throughout the session.

Monday – Sports Day🏅

What a fantastic Sports Day we had on Monday! We were delighted to welcome a very special visitor, Jamie, who the children absolutely adored. He joined in with plenty of sports games and even a game of football with the children. We had lots of races throughout the day and everyone had great fun taking part. We finished Sports Day with an exciting obstacle course and some football drills where the children practised controlling the ball between the steps. It was a brilliant day filled with smiles, teamwork and fun!

What a fantastic week we had at Memory Lane Preschool! 🎶🥁

A huge thank you to the amazing Andrea from Andrea's Piano Academy Celbridge for coming in to share the joy of music with our little learners. 💛

The children had the best time singing songs, learning fun beats to remember and playing interactive musical games.

Andrea’s energy, enthusiasm, and wonderful way with the children had everyone smiling from start to finish. The kids absolutely adored her, and it was such a fun and engaging experience for all.

Thank you, Andrea, for making music so magical! 🎵✨

What a fantastic way to end the week at Memory Lane Preschool! 🌟

The children had so much fun in the big hall, enjoying hula hoop games, exciting races, and plenty of laughter with their friends. It was wonderful to see their confidence, teamwork, and enthusiasm as they took part in all the activities and cheered each other on.

As we head into the final couple of weeks before the summer holidays, we are looking forward to making even more special memories together. There are lots of fun activities still to come, and we can’t wait to enjoy every moment with the children.

🐠🌊 Under the Ocean, Under the Sea! 🌊🐠

This week, we learned a new song:

🎶 “Under the ocean, under the sea, lots and lots of fishes all swimming by me!” 🎶

The children had so much fun bringing the song to life! As some of our friends became fishermen, the rest of us transformed into fish, swimming around them using front strokes and back strokes.

This activity was not only great fun, but also a fantastic way to develop important physical skills. As the children moved backwards and coordinated their arm movements for the back stroke, they were strengthening their hand-eye coordination, balance, body awareness, and overall coordination.

Learning through movement is always a favourite at Memory Lane Preschool, and our little fish certainly enjoyed making a splash! 🐟💙

🌊🐠 Ahoy, Mateys! 🏖️⚓

This week at Memory Lane Preschool, we made a splash with our Under the Sea and Beach theme!

We kicked off the week chatting about trips to the beach, what we might pack in our beach bags, and all the exciting things we can see and do by the sea. The children loved sharing their ideas before diving into learning about all sorts of fascinating sea creatures. We also revisited some important water safety tips from last week’s discussions.

Messy Day saw our little fishermen and fisherwomen cast their lines in search of the catch of the day! 🎣 The water play was a huge hit, with plenty of splashing, exploring, and sensory fun.

As the week went on, our imaginations set sail as we climbed aboard our boat and headed off on a fishing adventure! While reaching, twisting, and stretching to catch fish with their rods, the children were building core strength, developing hand-eye coordination, and practising important motor skills, all while having an absolute whale of a time! 🐳

From beach chats and sea creatures to fishing trips and water play, it was a week full of laughter, learning, and adventure beneath the waves.

Today at Memory Lane we had our very own lemonade stand and the kids absolutely loved it! 🍋☀️

We enjoyed delicious freshly squeezed lemonade down in the garden on such a beautiful sunny day. Full of smiles, laughter, and lots of summer fun 🌼💛
