St. Clare's Citizenship Awards

Today we had the pleasure of presenting our St. Clare's Citizenship Awards to three exceptional pupils - Hannah, Tobi and Bing Bing.

These awards recognise children who quietly and consistently make a difference in the lives of others through their kindness, generosity, respect, and willingness to help. Whether it is volunteering, including others, caring for younger pupils, lending a helping hand, or simply brightening someone's day with a kind word, these children truly live out the values of St. Clare's every day.

Their actions remind us that good citizenship is not about grand gestures, but about the small acts of kindness and care that help build a strong and supportive community.

We are immensely proud of our award winners and congratulate them on this well-deserved recognition. They are wonderful role models and a credit to their families, their classmates and our school.

Today we celebrated a truly remarkable milestone as our wonderful secretary, Bernie, retired after 47 years of dedicated service to St. Clare’s.

Over almost five decades, Bernie has welcomed and supported generations of pupils, parents and staff through the doors of our school. Her kindness, commitment and friendly presence have made her a cherished part of St. Clare’s and a vital link to the wider Cavan community.

We marked the occasion with a celebration inspired by all the things Bernie loves – music, nature, art, laughter and, of course, plenty of fun. It was a fitting tribute to someone who has brought so much joy and positivity to school life.

As a lasting symbol of her legacy, Bernie planted a tree at the entrance to the school. In the years ahead, it will grow, provide shelter and enhance our surroundings, just as Bernie has nurtured and enriched our school community throughout her time with us.

While we will miss her greatly, we are incredibly grateful for everything she has given to St. Clare’s over the past 47 years. We know you will join us in wishing Bernie every happiness, good health and many wonderful adventures in the years ahead.

Thank you, Bernie. Your impact on St. Clare’s will be felt for generations to come. 💚

St. Clare's had their musical extravaganza this week. Featuring brilliant performances from the two school orchestras, junior violinists, senior violinists, second class tin whistle group, ukulele group, individual pianists, a violin solo and a trad trio.
Huge congratulations to all the children involved, you were absolutely super!
Thank you to Ms Doyle, Ms Geoghegan, Mr Briody, Ms A. Flynn, Ms Owens, Ms Maguire, Ms O'Connor, Ms H. Brady, Ms McGovern, Ms Sherlock, Anna and all the other teachers for your hard work teaching the various musical groups this year.

Second Class had a fantastic morning at the Climate Action event in Con Smith Park. 🌳
Throughout the morning, the girls participated in a range of enjoyable and educational activities. They learned about road safety during the “Seatbelt Sheriff” session, explored nature around the park, and discovered interesting facts about decomposition and recycling. ♻️
The girls also worked together in team games and met the Tidy Towns Committee to learn about the importance of keeping the community clean. 🌿
Thanks to Cavan County Council for inviting us to the event ☀️ The girls really enjoyed it!

Congratulations to our wonderful students who made their First Holy Communion today.
They all looked amazing and represented our school so well. A big thank you to the teachers, staff, and parish community for all their hard work in preparing the children for this special day.
May God bless them and their families always!
