🗳️🇮🇪 Rialtas na n-Óg – Election Time! 🇮🇪🗳️

Democracy was alive and well in St. Patrick’s N.S. today!

A huge congratulations to our newly elected Taoiseach and Tánaiste! 👏

Well done to our fantastic 6th Class pupils who worked so hard preparing and delivering their campaign speeches, and to 4th and 5th Class who helped with posters, speeches and plenty of encouragement!

There was great excitement as the whole school cast their votes behind our very own makeshift polling booths 🗳️

💚🤍We’re Off to Breffni💚🤍

We are absolutely delighted and incredibly proud of our fantastic pupils who have once again reached the Cumann na mBunscol Camogie and Hurling Finals!

What a wonderful achievement for our small school! The determination, teamwork, skill and sporting spirit shown by our pupils have been fantastic, and we couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of them!

👀 Maths Eyes: At our whole-school Monthly Meet-Up, pupils were challenged to look closely at a picture, make mathematical observations and come up with their own Maths questions. Our senior leaders helped their groups complete a Kahoot maths based quiz.

🏡 Maths Eyes at Home: A big thank you to all the families who took part in our Maths Eyes homework challenge. We were so impressed by your creativity and the clever ways you spotted Maths in everyday life! 👏

❌⭕ Human Xs and Os: Plenty of strategy, teamwork and fun as pupils became the counters in this life-sized game!

🔍 Maths Trails: Our pupils put their mathematical skills to the test, exploring, investigating and solving problems along the way.

🍬 Guess the Sweets: Our estimation challenge had everyone thinking carefully, sharing strategies and trying to work out just how many sweets were hiding in the jar! Congratulations to our winner!👏🏻
Thank you to Eugenie who continues to help spark creativity on Friday afternoons. Our pupils put their creativity and mathematical thinking to work by designing and creating their very own miniature rooms inside shoeboxes! From measuring and planning to exploring shapes, space, size and proportion, this activity was a wonderful example of Maths in action.
Maths really is about so much more than getting the right answer – it’s about curiosity, creativity, reasoning and having a go!

Maths is everywhere at St. Patrick’s this week, and there’s lots of problem-solving, teamwork and mathematical thinking happening throughout the school! 🧠💡

🍬 How many sweets are in the jar? The competition is on! Some fantastic estimation strategies are being used to work out the answer. Who will be our lucky winner? 👀🍭

👀 Maths Eyes Challenge! Our pupils are keeping their Maths Eyes wide open all week, spotting maths in the world around them!

🔍 Maths Trail! Our Middle Room enjoyed putting their mathematical skills to the test with a fun and engaging maths trail.

🌟 Pupils Teaching Pupils! Our Senior Room took on the role of maths leaders, creating activities, teaching and supporting our Junior Room pupils. A wonderful example of pupil voice, leadership and spreading positivity and confidence in maths! 👏

A huge congratulations to our fantastic camogie and hurling teams, who both won their blitzes today and now advance to the finals in Breffni Park! 💚🤍
Amassive thank you to Corlough GAA Club, Corlough, Co Cavan for the use of their excellent facilities and for helping out today to ensure everything ran smoothly.

☕🍪 To our wonderful Parent's Association, Saint Patrick's National School, Corlough., who always extend such a warm welcome and have the cupán tae agus brioscaí ready for spectators and referees alike – míle buíochas!

🏐 To Coach Philip, for all the training sessions, encouragement and pep talks that helped get our teams this far!

🚌 To Martins Coaches Cavan, for all the runs to and from the pitch – your continued support is so appreciated!

Coach Philip kept us active with another great football session, developing our skills, teamwork and, most importantly, having lots of fun.
🎨 We were delighted to welcome Eugenie back as the children began brainstorming ideas and exploring possible designs for some exciting future craft projects.

📚 In History, the children have been busy working on projects exploring continuity and change.

We also held our first whole-school Monthly Meet-Up of the year. These gatherings are a wonderful opportunity to promote pupil voice, share ideas across the school and give every child opportunities to develop their oral language skills and confidence in a relaxed, supportive setting. We are incredibly proud of our past pupils representing Templeport on the senior team. It’s wonderful to see them continuing to shine on the football field!
We also wish the Templeport U17 team the very best of luck in their upcoming final. We are so proud of all our past pupils involved! 👏 Big thank you to Corlough GAA Club, Corlough, Co Cavan and Templeport St Aidan's GAA for buying our pupils tickets for the final. We were delighted to welcome artist Andrea Mullen Suas Art Studio, who helped the children create beautiful lanterns which will form part of Tom Meskell’s The Sleeping Giant installation, celebrating 300 years of Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels and its special connection with Swanlinbar. There were plenty of tractors making an appearance on our lanterns! 🚜The children will have the opportunity if they wish, to visit the installation and spot their own lanterns on the night, which will make it extra special. ✨

🌟 The Sleeping Giant will be on display at Urney Church of Ireland, Cavan Town, on Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th October, from 5.00–7.30 p.m. It is a free family event as part of Cultúr 2026 – see the poster for full details. Bainigí taitneamh as an deireadh seachtaine😊

🎶 Ceol agus Craic Trad Music Session 🎶

Join us this Sunday, 28th June, for our final session before the summer break!

Come along for an afternoon of great music, good company, and plenty of craic as we wrap up a fantastic run of sessions together.

We'll be taking a break over the summer and will be back on the last Sunday in September.
We can't wait to see you all for one last session before the holidays!
