And that’s a wrap on the 2025/2026 school year! 🎉

What a year it has been – full of learning, laughter, adventure and memories that will stay with us for years to come. We will certainly miss our wonderful 6th Class pupils as they begin an exciting new chapter, but we look forward to welcoming our new Junior Infants at the end of the summer.

Here are a few more photos from our School Tour and Sports Day.

Our Senior Room enjoyed a wonderful day at the Ulster American Folk Park, where we met up with our friends from schools in County Derry, County Donegal and County Antrim.

It was a fascinating journey through history as the children explored what life was like during the Great Famine, discovered the challenges families faced, and learned about the difficult decision many made to emigrate to America in search of a better life.

The pupils were inspired by the resilience, determination and creativity of people in the past, seeing firsthand how they built homes, made everyday items, and adapted to the resources available to them. It was a fantastic opportunity to bring history to life through hands-on experiences and storytelling.

A brilliant day of learning, collaboration and new friendships across counties. Thank you to everyone who made the day so memorable! 🍀📚🌍

What an incredible day we had on our school tour to Rooskey! 🌞🚣‍♀️

Our pupils embraced every challenge and adventure with enthusiasm, courage and plenty of laughter. From kayaking on the water, conquering the climbing wall, to an epic four-way tug of war, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The excitement continued with archery, obstacle courses, pier jumping, muddy slides that left lots of smiling faces, and peaceful nature walks, where we explored the beautiful surroundings.

The children represented our school brilliantly, supporting one another and making memories that will last for years to come. Maith sibh a pháistí👏🏻🏹🚣🏿‍♀️🧗

🎓✨ 6th Class Graduation & Ceremony of Light ✨🎓

Today we celebrated our wonderful 6th Class Graduation. A sincere thank you to Fr. Sean for leading our beautiful prayer service and helping us mark this important milestone.

A special part of the ceremony was the Ceremony of Light, where our 6th Class pupils passed their light on to 5th Class, symbolising the passing of responsibility, leadership and example to those who will now step into their role within our school community.

Many thanks to our Parent's Association, Saint Patrick's National School, Corlough.for organising the delicious cupán tae agus cáca milis afterwards. Your support and generosity are always greatly appreciated.

We were also delighted to position our new sundial in our Creative Space today. A huge thank you to the talented parent who beautifully crafted it and took the time this morning to explain how it should be positioned and how to read it correctly. It was a wonderful learning experience for everyone involved.

Now all we need is a little sunshine! ☀️ We look forward to using our sundial and watching it become a special feature of our Creative Space for years to come.

Lá Spóirt - Cuid a haon!

☀️ Sports Day 2026 Part 1☀️

What a fantastic day of activity, fun and teamwork we enjoyed at our Sports Day! From the races and challenges to the team events, it was wonderful to see everyone encouraging one another, showing determination and, most importantly, working together.

Congratulations to the team who were crowned champions and proudly received the Perpetual Luke Byrne Trophy. This trophy recognises not only success on the day but also the values of teamwork, kindness and sportsmanship that Luke embodied.

A sincere thank you to Luke’s parents, Tony and Lorraine Byrne, who joined us to present the trophy. We would also like to thank Tony for his thoughtful gift to every family – a beautiful poster filled with positive affirmations, reminding us all of the importance of believing in ourselves and supporting one another.

There was even more excitement as our butterflies were finally ready to be released into our Creative Space. It was a special moment watching them take flight into an area that has become a wonderful creative space for observing insects, exploring flowers, and carrying out mini-beast hunts. It is a space that encourages curiosity, discovery and a love of nature.

A great day was had by all, filled with fun, friendship, learning and plenty of happy memories! 🦋🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🌼🌿🏆
