Duration: Approximately 2–2.5 hours
This interactive walk introduces participants to the diversity of edible wild plants growing within the grounds of Clonalis House. Drawing on many years of experience as a forager & food tour guide Margaret from will guide participants in identifying a range of common & seasonal wild foods, discussing their traditional uses, culinary potential & sustainable harvesting practices.
The course will start with a tasting of homemade wild food crackers, seasonal dip & a wild-inspired drink, providing an opportunity to chat about how wild plants can be used in our cooking.
The walk focuses on wild plants & their role in biodiversity, heritage and Irish food culture. Participants will learn how I incorporate wild ingredients into their cooking & food experiences.
Please note that fungi identification is not included as part of this walk.
