Golf news....the future is bright for Castlerea Golf Club as a group of enthusiastic junior players won the Golf Sixes Tournament 2026 last Saturday. They played against Longford, Roscommon and Strokestown over many weeks to win a beautiful trophy and individual medals. We are delighted to have our school represented by three senior students. Watch out for lessons which will begin again in springtime for new members. Congratulations boys!

🌍🇪🇺 Special Visitors in Our Classroom! 🇪🇺🌍

On Tuesday, we were delighted to welcome some very special visitors to our classroom — Ambassador Matej Marn from Slovenia, Maria Walsh MEP and Senator Gareth Scahill. 👋✨
We had the chance to tell them all about our JEP, our projects and what we have learned about the EU and the EU Presidency. 🇪🇺
We also had lots of questions ready! Some of the questions we discussed included:
🇸🇮🇮🇪 What is the biggest difference between going to school in Slovenia and Ireland?
📱🤖 How are you protecting students from the dangers of social media and AI?
Our visitors shared their experiences and ideas, which led to lots of interesting conversations and lively discussions in our classroom.
A huge thank you to our visitors for taking the time to meet us and answer our questions! 🌟
