Just 48 hours to go now till Castleknock's oldest tradition kicks off and with local elections approaching, the motion is certainly topical. Who will be bringing home the Niall McGovern Cup and the coveted Gold Medal? The motion has been chosen at last and with just 7 days to go, we'd advise you to keep Tuesday the 20th free! All are welcome on the night as The Lord Mayor Of Dublin, Oisin Quinn, presides over as guest adjudicator for the 2014 Gold Medal Debate.

Well it's that time of year again! The St Vincent’s Castleknock College Gold Medal Debate will take place on Tuesday 20th of May.
Free entrance, everyone invited and encouraged to join us for a lively debate. Our guest adjudicator this year is the Lord Mayor of Dublin Mr. Oisín Quinn. Motion to follow.

Well we wrapped up the year in style with our Annual Teacher Student debate yesterday afternoon! Luckily, the students emerged victorious (and yes,we will never let the teachers forget it) !! We have had many patrons of debating over the years, both junior and Senior, and today we said goodbye to one, Mr. Fox. We wish him all the best in his new adventure to New Zealand in the New Year!

Commiserations to the very brave men of Castleknock who were defeated by the lovely ladies of Mount Sackville (Maybe next time lads!). Thanks to Mr. Eoin O'Gorman who chaired and also judged along with two of our teachers Mr Mac Gabhann and Ms. McCudden. Let's not forget our wonderful spectators, from both Castleknock and Mount Sackville! What a great nights debating all in all :)
