I'm running an online survey as part of my Masters thesis to find out more about the experience of online gamers playing games like Roblox, Fortnite and Minecraft. Data is requested to understand if users experience the same kinds of issues found on existing social media. No personally identifiable information will be shared in the study. The survey won’t ask for your name or profile information.
It will ask for your age to ensure that you’re old enough to participate. The data collected will be deleted no later than November 30 2021. The Data Controller is the DCU School of Communications, Social Media Communications program. The Data Processor is Sean Kavanagh. All survey participants will have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission. You have the right to access your data by contacting Sean Kavanagh ([email protected]). If you change your mind about consenting, you can withdraw consent by contacting Sean Kavanagh ([email protected])
Participants must be over the age of 13 when taking the survey. If you are under 13, don’t continue. It is intended for U.S. residents. If you are resident elsewhere, don't continue. Participants will be asked to complete a questionnaire about their experiences in online games. Participation is voluntary and you can withdraw at any time. Your participation ends when you withdraw. Once you withdraw, your data will be handled as described. Confidentiality of your information can only be protected within the limitations of the law (i.e. it’s possible for data to be subject to subpoena, freedom of information claim or mandated reporting by some professions).
