Swim Ireland Swim Ireland is the National Governing Body for all aquatic sports on the island of Ireland

Swim Ireland is the National Governing Body for swimming, water polo, diving and synchronised swimming across the 32 counties of the island of Ireland. We are recognised as such by the Department of Tourism, Transport, Sport and the Arts, through Sport Ireland and Sport Northern Ireland. We are recognised at world level by FINA and at European level by LEN. Swim Ireland exists to encourage partici

pation in aquatics, develop excellence and regulate our sport. We are a non-profit organisation, working closely with volunteers to achieve our missions. Swim Ireland has over 18,000 members and more than 160 affiliated clubs in every county across all four provinces. We offer a range of ‘Learn to Swim’ programmes to pool centres throughout the island of Ireland. In particular, the ‘Child Learn to Swim’ programme, which rewards children who achieve the objectives of the programme with a range of Certificates and Badges. Swim Ireland also offers an extensive range of aquatic qualifications, like Swimming Teacher and Swimming Coach.

The Guinness SC Charity Swim - Killiney Beach Saturday 29th 2026 has unfortunately been cancelled due a beach swimming closure notice.

All participants will receive further details in due course.

With just four swims remaining on the 2026 National Open Water Calendar, there's still time to boost your qualification count for the 2026 Dublin City Council Dublin City Liffey Swim and take advantage of the end of season bonus swim!

🔹 Guinness SC Charity Swim (Killiney Beach) | 29th August
🔹 North Dublin WPC Swim (Portmarnock) | 5th September
🔹 Swim Ireland Annagh Lake | 6th September

To help swimmers achieve the required qualification standard, Swim Ireland is offering a special end-of-season bonus.

Complete any two of these four events and we will award you a bonus qualifying swim towards your DCC Liffey Swim qualification.

That means:

✅ Swim 2 events listed above
✅ Receive 1 bonus qualifying swim credit
✅ Get closer to the 4 qualifying swims required for Liffey Swim entry

Team Ireland's Emma Kelly concluded her 2026 World Aquatics Diving Championships campaign this morning with a fine performance in the 3m Springboard, scoring 326.40 points to finish 23rd overall.

Yesterday, Kelly competed in the 1m Springboard, scoring 312.20 points to place 22nd.

An exciting future lies ahead for this young diver ☘️
