U16 & U19 Basketball Update! ⛹️‍♀️💙

U16 Girls | Pres Castleisland 38 – 15 Pres Milltown

An exciting and competitive game for our U16 girls today! Despite a slow start, the girls found their rhythm and showed fantastic determination, teamwork and fighting spirit throughout. They battled hard right to the final whistle, securing a great win. Focus now turns to Friday’s All-Ireland Cup Round 3 game against Castleisland Community College (CCC), where the girls will be hoping to secure a place in the semi-finals! 💪🏀

U19 Girls | Pres Castleisland 34 – 26 Pres Milltown

An intense and hard-fought game for our U19 girls today! The girls showed great determination, resilience and drive from start to finish. They dominated under the boards, battling strongly for rebounds and showing fantastic physicality and commitment at both ends of the court. A well-earned victory and a brilliant team effort with plenty of positives to build on! 🏀

Well done to both teams on two fantastic wins!

Today, we welcomed Deborah Weekes, a qualified solicitor and legal consultant to our school. Deborah facilitated an engaging, interactive TY workshop titled Law Ed.

This module was first introduced to the TY programme in September 2026. Students are completing two classes weekly under the guidance of English teacher J. McElligott.

Today’s workshop provided students with an opportunity to perform as actors and legal professionals in a mock trial event.
Well done to all for putting their best legal foot forward!

In addition, students explored a range of legal disputes and scenarios frequently encountered by young people. Opinions, advice and experience was shared.

Thank you to the Law Ed team for visiting our TY class.

TY - Visit to Castleisland Daycare Centre
Today, as part of Positive Ageing Week, our Transition Year students were invited to visit Castleisland Daycare Centre and spend time with the attendees of the centre. As always, there was no shortage of volunteers. Thank you TY students. We look forward to visiting again in the lead-up to Christmas to share music, dance and song with our community.

Malaga Trip -Day 3
Day three of our Malaga trip kicked off at the Museo Interactivo de la Música, where we got hands-on experience trying out a massive variety of instruments. Afterwards, we headed down to the beach to soak up the sun, go swimming, and enjoy plenty of fun in the waves. The evening began with a delicious group dinner, giving us all the energy we needed for a late-night shopping spree at Larios Shopping Centre. From music-making to ocean waves and retail therapy, it was an absolutely super day from start to finish!
