A huge congratulations to all of our Leaving Certificate class of 2026 on receiving their excellent results today.

It was a wonderful morning here in St Patrick’s Secondary School with students calling in to collect their results and meeting their teachers who were there to support them on this special day.

Thank you to parents & guardians who have sent messages of appreciation and thanks to staff for the team effort that goes in to a leaving certificate year.

🟢🟡Kerry Development Squads 🟢🟡

Congratulations to Adam Griffin, Ronan O’ Connor (Cordal) & Liam O’ Connor (Castleisland Desmonds) who were part of the Kerry North U16 Squad that defeated Laois today in the Tedd Webb Shield Final at the University of Limerick.

Adam had the prestigious honour of Captaining the side to victory.

Kevin Brosnan (Currow) was a member of the Kerry North U15 side that overcame Cork in the Adam Mangan Cup Final while Mr. O’ Leary was a member of the coaching staff

Congratulations to Gideon Reed on his performance at the Schools International Athletics Board Track & Field International.

Representing Ireland on behalf of St Patrick’s Secondary School Gideon competed in the U17 Boys Shot Put.

He threw a distance of 13.73m with the 5kg weight to secure 5th place overall.

Earning his international cap and competing for his country is a great achievement. 🇮🇪

Congratulations to Gideon Reed on his selection to the SIAB Irish International Athletics Team.

This outstanding achievement is a reward for Gideon’s dedication and exceptional performances throughout the season, culminating in a superb throw of 14.21m in the 5kg Shot Put at the Tailteann Games, which secured his place on the Irish team.

Representing both his school and his country is a tremendous honour, and we have no doubt Gideon will do both with distinction.

The entire St. Patrick’s Secondary School community wishes Gideon the very best of luck as he represents Ireland on the international stage. 🇮🇪💚

Congratulations to Gideon Reed on winning the 🥈in the Shot Put at the Irish Schools Athletics Championships with an impressive throw of 13.9 metres.

This was a fantastic performance by Gideon and the culmination of an outstanding season. Along the way, he claimed County, North Munster, and Munster titles before earning All-Ireland 🥈 silver on the national stage.

A remarkable achievement and a testament to his hard work, dedication, and talent. Everyone at St. Patrick’s is immensely proud of Gideon and all that he has accomplished this season.

🟣⚪️🏆 County Champions 🏆⚪️🟣

Kerry 1st Year Football Final

St. Patrick’s Castleisland 3.9
St. Michael’s Listowel 2.7

On Thursday afternoon our first year footballers were crowned County Champions following a hard earned victory over an excellent St. Michael’s Listowel side.

We travelled to Ballyduff to take on the Listowel school following three wins from our three group games playing some excellent football en route.

Despite playing with the assistance of the wind in the opening half it took us ten minutes to open our account. The major breakthrough came mid way through the opening half as Darragh McGoldrick found the back of the net for our first of three goals and we would lead by five points at the interval.

The second half was fiercely contested between two evenly matched sides. Thomas O’ Donoghue found the back of the net for our second goal of the game but this did not deter the Listowel school and with the final whistle approaching there was only two points separating the sides. A further Thomas O’ Donoghue goal as the final whistle approached ensured a five point victory in what was a fantastic team display from all players.

The victory was extremely rewarding for this group of players who have performed excellently throughout the year across all codes having contested the County Soccer Final and last week the All Ireland U14 Basketball Semi Final.

We now head into the summer break full of optimism as we look forward to the our respective Kerry & Munster Championships next year.
