Castleisland Day Care Centre would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who visited us during Heritage Week.

We were delighted to welcome such a variety of interesting and informative talks and demonstrations, covering everything from turf cutting, traditional bread baking, butter making and weaving, to wildlife and local historical sites.

Your time, knowledge and enthusiasm brought our local heritage to life and gave our clients the opportunity to share memories, stories and experiences from days gone by.

We are extremely grateful for the time and effort you gave so generously. Your contribution helped make Heritage Week a truly enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone at Castleisland Day Care Centre.

Thank you for helping us celebrate, remember and preserve our wonderful local heritage. ❤️

Every year Castleisland Day Care celebrates National Heritage Week. This year is no exception and we are delighted to welcome local historians and traditional craftsmen to the Day Centre to celebrate Heritage week from today Monday 17th to Friday 21st. August.

This year’s theme is Heritage at Risk and it encourages us to explore the built, natural and cultural aspects of our heritage that are endangered.

We are very fortunate in Castleisland to have such a wealth of local volunteers who are willing to visit and share their knowledge and it is very much appreciated.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to any member of the public who would have an interest in any of the talks/ events to pop in.
