This evening we had our last Sociable Souls for the term and it was a super one of course!! Our theme for the evening was "following directions " as well as some Easter fun too!! 🐣We read a fun story and then had a chat about directions and why we need them in our lives! ⤴️↗️We had a little activity where we had to listen and follow directions!! We also had some directional active games!! Then we got stuck into our Easter fun with art, mask making and a Easter themed "who am I?" game!! 🐰We had the best of fun and it was a great way to say goodbye until the next season of Sociable Souls I a few months!! Happy Easter everyone 😊

This evening at Sociable Souls we worked on the theme "flexible thinking " and how sometimes it's ok to think outside the box! 🤔We read a story about when things don't work as planned and then we had a discussion on how we feel when our own plans don't work out. 🤪 We mixed our theme with some St Patrick's themed fun which was great. ☘️We played "what time is it Larry Leprechaun?" and "Leaping Leprechauns", it was so much fun. We listened to the story of St Patrick and then made our own shamrocks with green play dough! ☘️ We used our theme of flexible thinking to colour in some shamrocks as bright as we could! 🤗We finished off with some flexible thinking prompt questions which were great for thinking alternatively. It was another fun session at Sociable Souls....

This evening at Sociable Souls was another fun one. Our theme was "conflict resolution" so we started with a chat about what this meant and if we had ever had to deal with conflict. 🤔 Some of the children had their own experiences which they recalled! 😊We took a break from such a strong topic by going outside for some fun in the fresh air. We played all of our favourite outdoor games and it was such a lovely change of scenery! 🥰We went back inside where we got stuck back into our theme! We went through some conflict scenarios and then we practiced ways to deal with the conflict calmly and without getting ourselves into further issues!😔 We finished off with some bubbles before we all went home. 😀

This evening at Sociable Souls we were focusing on the theme of "creativity and imagination"! 🖍🖌These are very important factors in the formation of friendships as they help us to find links with others!! We started off with a catchup and we had a lovely story which embraced imagination!! We spoke about the areas of creativity that we find ourselves drawn to. 🥰 We played a fun active game to get our energy up!! Then we got creative with some play dough which was great fun. 😀 We also had fun with pencils, crayons and paper, seeing where our imaginations took us! It was so lovely to see what unfolded onto the paper! 👏 We then got our imaginations flowing with some fun choice questions before we finished up with a game of Jenga. This evening our Sociable Souls group worked on the theme "building confidence in ourselves " which was great fun! We started off with a story about a little bear who was scared of the dark! 🐻This got us chatting about confidence and how important it is. Building our own confidence in ourselves, helps us to be a good friend to others as we will see what great qualities we have to offer! 🥰 We had a little game of "getting to know me" which was a good laugh and then we used a flower to highlight our personal qualities. Knowing our best qualities, will give us confidence in finding the right connections with our peers! 😍We finished our session with some parachute fun before everyone went home beaming with confidence!

This evening, we launched another block of Sociable Souls sessions with a theme of "kindness " and it was just lovely! It was great to see our friends back again and a couple of new faces too! 😍 We started off with a story about kindness and how we can use it as a super power! We had a look at ways to show kindness and then we decorated a poster reminding us to be kind always!! 🥰We made ourselves a "kindness cloud" with rainbow rays describing all of the ways we are going to try to be kind at home and at school! 🫶 We also had some active fun and we finished off with some bubbles!! It was a lovely evening and a great start back to another block of Sociable Souls! 😉

This evening we had our last Sociable Souls session of this term so we tackled the very important topic of "respect".;We talked about showing and receiving respect and how important it is to do so. We read a story and spotted all the examples of respect being shown 😄 Then we had a little visual activity where we had to differentiate between people respecting others, belongings and the environment! 😊 We had a few movement activities which got us energised and then we had some floor activities with visuals again. We then talked about ways in which we have shown respect today! 🥰 We looked at ways in which we can show respect in all aspects of our lives which got everyone thinking and we finished up with a game of Jenga! Sociable Souls will take a break for a while but we will be back again for another block in February. We can't wait to see everyone again then..... 😁

This evening at Sociable Souls we tackled the issue of "problem solving " which was an interesting one for sure! 🤔 We read the story about The Rainbow Fish and we saw how problem solving skills are important when we are forming friendships with others! 😀 We looked at the steps that we should take when solving problems in a positive way. We then went through some scenarios where we put the problem solving steps to the test. We used the straws to create a maze and then used our skills to solve the problem of getting out of it! 🤣It was great fun. We finished our evening with a game of Jenga! Again problem solving is a great skill to have with this game and it was a good way to finish our evening!!

This evening at Sociable Souls we talked about "personal space and boundaries" and how important it is for it to be respected. We need to be aware of our own personal space and that of other people! 🤗We read the story of The 3 Little Pigs where we heard about a wolf who had no understanding of personal space or boundaries. 🐺 We then went outside and played some games where we practiced staying within our boundaries. We went back inside to discuss the topic a little bit more and we went though some scenarios where different characters had their personal space challenged! We helped to come up with solutions for them..🥰. We finished our evening with a fun game of Jenga which was a great laugh as always....

This evening we were back at Sociable Souls after the mid term and it was so lovely to catch up and to hear everyone's Halloween stories! We heard a lovely story about making people feel welcome! 🤗 The theme of our evening was "conversation skills" and how having this skill is very important in getting to know our peers! 🥰We had a practice session of conversations where we reintroduced ourselves again witn an interesting fact to the group and then the others had to remember what was said! 😄We had a discussion about our personal likes and dislikes and then we found the likes and dislikes that we have in common with each other. This sparked off some great chats. 😉We kept the theme going with some random "name 5 things cards" to get everyone thinking and we had some conversation practice with cue cards. It was so much craic. We then finished off our evening with the yes/no game which helps us to think of alternative words to change things up!! It was a super evening as always....🥰
