Free Outdoor preschool with full indoor facility targeted for 3 to 5 year olds. Located in Castlebar

Our Outdoor Explorers Preschool is a 5 minute drive from Castlebar town centre, located in the picturesque town land of Derryharriff. The premises consists of a beautifully renovated farmhouse and a large field approx one acre. The Outdoor Explorers Preschool will be primarily outdoors with the children only using the indoor facility if the weather is very inclement. In the outdoor area there will

be a large variety of natural materials for the children to discover and explore, such as trees, hills, puddles, shrubs natural shelters, poly tunnel for the children to grow vegetables, to mention a few.

Work is in full swing.
The work never stops. but we love having the place shiny for all our new come september. New coats of paint and keeping the grass in check.
We have a few places left for September, dont miss the chance for the amazing opportunities we have on site

We had such a wonderful teddy bear picnic! The sun shone and so did all our little Explorers! Thank you all for your wonderful donations. We will make a donation to Mayo Roscommon hospice tomorrow once all donations are counted. We'll keep you posted. Thank you all so much 😀 💕☀️🎉

We had a very exciting visit from a teacher from primary school this week. Her beautiful puppet Roisin had lots of fun pointers about primary school. We learned loads about what colour our uniform will be, the fun they'll have learning both indoors and outdoors. And that they'll have lovely lunches to! This visit really helped our children understand their transition to primary school. 😍💕💞🎉☀️

🌟 Wishing a Fond Farewell to Dave! 🌟
It is with a mix of sadness and immense gratitude that we announce Dave will be leaving Outdoor Explorers this summer.
To say he is going to be sorely missed is an understatement. The kids absolutely adored him, and we all loved the unique rhythm, energy, and joy he brought to our days. Whether he was leading an adventure or just making everyone smile, Dave’s incredible laughter and genuine love for the children created a space where everyone felt happy and welcome.
And of course, who could forget the costumes?! Dave never missed a chance to dress up and bring a little extra magic and imagination to the great outdoors.
While we are heartbroken to see him go, we are incredibly excited for him as he moves on to bigger and better things. Dave, thank you for the unforgettable memories, the laughs, and the dedication you poured into our explorers. You are leaving big boots to fill!
Please join us in wishing Dave the absolute best in his next chapter
