Our First Years are settling in very well to St. Joseph’s. They enjoyed bowling and breakfast at Mayo Leisure Point this morning, a great opportunity for them to have some fun and get to know each other better 🎳 They then had their timetabled classes, giving them a chance to find their way around the school and meet their teachers 📚 👩‍🏫
A special thanks to our Fifth Year Mentors who have been so welcoming to our new students. They will continue this welcome with games in the library this Wednesday lunchtime 🎳 🎾 ⚽️

Congratulations to our Gospel Choir on their performance in the National Concert Hall as part of the Feis Ceoil Gala Concert in June.
A huge well done to each and every member of the choir for dedicating your time, energy and commitment to rehearsals and performances throughout your summer holidays. It was an honour to grace this beautiful stage as Folen’s Choir of the Year. Dear Students, Parents/Guardians and Members of the School Community,

I am pleased, on behalf of the Board of Management, to announce the appointment of Ms. Johanne Duffy as Deputy Principal of St. Joseph’s Secondary School. I am delighted to welcome Ms. Duffy to our school community.

Ms. Duffy joins St. Joseph’s Secondary School from St. Gerald’s College, Castlebar, where she was a highly respected and valued member of the school community.

Ms. Duffy previously served as Deputy Principal of Yeats College Galway for 12 years. She brings extensive leadership experience in teaching and learning, student support and school development.

In her new role, Ms. Duffy will contribute to the strategic leadership of St. Joseph’s, working with staff to support effective teaching and learning, strengthen student support structures and advance the school’s priorities for ongoing improvement.

I look forward to working closely with Ms. Duffy as we continue to build on the wonderful reputation of St. Joseph’s Secondary School and the strong sense of community that exists within our school. I wish her every success in her new role.

This summer our 6th year student Grace Bailey represented Ireland at the European Boxing Championships, defeating Italy in the last 16 and then beating the reigning European Champion from England in the quarter-final.
Grace’s journey came to an end in the semi-final against a very strong opponent from Russia, but she comes home with a European Championship bronze medal.
We couldn’t be prouder of Grace and everything she has achieved.

Exam Mass for 3rd & 6th Year Students

Parents/Guardians are asked to note that an Exam Mass for all 3rd and 6th Year students will take place on Tuesday, June 2nd, at 6 pm in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.

Students and their families are warmly invited to attend as we keep our exam students in our thoughts and prayers ahead of their upcoming exams.
