As the games approach we are delighted to announce our final athlete and team.

Declan, who is now a past pupil of Scoil Aonghusa, will represent Munster in National Games at Equestrian.

Declan is a very experienced rider at this stage and is participating as an A rider this year, which is the highest level in the area of Equestrian at Special Olympics.

He has made great progress since being selected for the Munster Squad, coached by Scoil Aonghusa staff member, Stephanie!

We wish you all the very best Declan and hope you enjoy every minute!

*** WE NEED YOUR HELP ***

Scoil Aonghusa was recently nominated in the Boston Scientific Clonmel charity fundraiser, and we were thrilled to be selected as one of the top five charities!

Employees at Boston Scientific are now being asked to vote for one of the five chosen charities over the coming weeks. The closing date for voting has been extended until 19th June, and we would be incredibly grateful for every vote received.

If Scoil Aonghusa is selected as the charity of choice, we hope to use any funds raised to purchase a wheelchair-accessible bus for our wheelchair users — a resource that would make a huge difference to our school community.

We are reaching out to anyone who works at Boston Scientific, or who may know someone who does, to please consider casting a vote for Scoil Aonghusa. As always, we truly appreciate your ongoing support. Please help us spread the word and encourage as many votes as possible!
A huge thank you to everyone who has already voted for us 🩷

🏃🏼‍♀️🚶🏻‍♂️🏃🏼🚶🏻‍♀️ Introducing Our Athletics Team! 🏅🥎🏅🥎

We are delighted to introduce Scoil Aonghusa’s athletes who will be representing Munster at the National Games in June:

✨ Mya Burke McCarthy
✨ Simon Condon
✨ Makenzie Doyle
✨ Angelo Minogue
✨ Sean O’Neill
✨ Kate O’Sullivan

Accompanying our athletes will be their coach chaperones:

✴️ Scoil Aonghusa Head Coach Katie Archdeacon
✴️ Miriam O’Gorman
✴️ John O’Donoghue

We are incredibly proud of our athletics team, who have been training hard over the past number of months in preparation for the National Games. Since March, the team has taken part in several training sessions alongside fellow Team Munster athletes under the guidance of Team Munster Head Coach Collette O’Riordan.

Training sessions have taken place across Nenagh, Waterford, Castleisland, Templemore, and Thurles, helping our athletes grow in confidence, skill, and teamwork. Most recently, the team travelled to Morton Stadium in Dublin to become familiar with the venue where the National Games will take place this June.

The dedication, commitment, and progress shown by all our athletes has been fantastic to see, and we are so proud of the strides they have made.
