In line with current government restrictions and healthcare guidelines we regret to inform that Carrickmacross Arts Festival 2020 will not be taking place.
We know many of you were looking forward to our return this August but in the interest of the health and safety of performers, volunteers, festival-goers etc. We feel this is the correct decision. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to starting to plan for the future when
restrictions ease.
The current lockdown has highlighted the importance of the arts in our communities. We think it’s fair to say we’d all be lost without the high quality creative works we’ve been able to enjoy over the last few months, be it music, TV, Film, books, visual arts etc. These times have shown us that without great Art and great Artists life would be quite dull. So if you can afford it please invest in the arts. Buy a new book, buy a piece of art, buy a band’s music. If you can’t afford to then please share and show you care. Artists need you to promote them.
Likewise the multitude of local businesses that support us annually will be finding it difficult at this time so we encourage you all to support them when you can.
Also many people who have worked with us and attended the festival over the years have been the front line staff during this pandemic. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to you all. It’s no small thing to risk your life to protect the lives of others. Thank you for your ongoing efforts.
And finally.... If you’ve ever wanted to express yourself creatively and have found yourself with extra time due to the lockdown don’t let this moment pass you by. Go for it. Experiment, try, fail and try again. No one can see you. 😀
We’ll see you all soon hopefully. Stay safe and stay creative. Big love from the CAF team! ❤️
