Farewell Mrs Healy
After 43 incredible years of service to Scoil Mhuire and the Carrick community, we say a very fond farewell to our wonderful Principal, Mrs Healy. ❤️
On Thursday, our school community came together in St. Mary’s Church to celebrate Caroline, her remarkable career and the enormous contribution she has made to our school.
From beginning her teaching career in 1983, becoming Principal in 2001 and leading our school through the amalgamation in 2013, Caroline has been at the heart of so much of Scoil Mhuire’s story.
Throughout all the changes over the years, one thing remained constant — her unwavering commitment to our children and school community.
Caroline made Scoil Mhuire a place where children felt safe, valued, welcomed and, most importantly, that they belonged. She knew every child, knew their names and had a wonderful ability to make each one feel special.
For staff, she was a leader, a colleague, a friend and a constant source of support. Through concerts, sports days, school tours, Christmas plays, assemblies, inspections, challenges and even a pandemic, Caroline was always there, keeping the ship afloat! ❤️
She has given 43 years of her time, energy, kindness and care to Scoil Mhuire and has touched the lives of generations of children, families and staff. Her legacy will live on through the people and memories she leaves behind.
Caroline, thank you for everything you have done for our school. Thank you for your kindness, your leadership, your patience and for always putting our children first.
While we will miss you terribly, we are delighted that you can now enjoy a very well-earned retirement — no bells, no timetables, no meetings, no emails and, most importantly, no one knocking on your door saying, “Caroline, have you got a minute?”
We wish you a long, happy, healthy and laughter-filled retirement, surrounded by family, friends and grandchildren. You have certainly earned it!
You may be retiring from Scoil Mhuire, but you will always be a very special part of its story.
From all of us in the Scoil Mhuire family — go raibh míle maith agat, Caroline. You will be missed more than words can say.
