What a fantastic year in Home Economics at St. Laserian’s School!

Over the past few months, Foxglove and Alder have been busy working on **Textile Tuesdays**, creating a beautiful sensory blanket. 🧵✨
Students cut squares from a range of different materials and sewed them together in a patchwork style. This was achieved by using a switch button attached to a power link box to operate the sewing machine, with the teacher guiding the fabric through the machine while they controlled it.
Check it out! A huge thank you to our kind friend for donating the sewing machine to the school. It has found a great home and will be enjoyed by all the students. 💛
This week in St. Laserian’s School we celebrated Active Schools Week, and what a success it was! 🏃🏃🏻♀️⚽👩🦽➡️🧑🦽➡️
It was fantastic to see students and staff active together.
During the week we had bowling competitions, activities in the gym, walks, games, and plenty of opportunity for everyone of all abilities to be active and have fun.
We finished off the week today with our Staff vs Students Soccer Match, which was brilliant fun for everyone. And…..the students were victorious! 🏆🥇
Active Schools Week showed the benefits physical activity has, not only on our physical health, but also on our mental health and overall wellbeing.

🎵🎼 A big thank you to Willow class for checking out some new technologies as part of Enable Ireland’s ‘See Hear Play Project’ with Fidelma Morris.
Today they used the Cosmo Dots to demonstrate some cause and effect. They also used the Orchestra section to arrange and play some musical pieces 🎺🎸.
