Asana School Of English and Asana Tesol and volunteering are dedicated to learner centred, interactive, dynamic, compassionate and enjoyable learning.

Asana International School: holistic, transformative arts and nature-based learning for teenagers, adults, teachers and researchers on the Atlantic southwest coast of Ireland, established in 1993 by a family of teachers. After some years of mainstream ELT teaching, in 1995 we had a life -changing encounter with the great Mario Rinvolucri, which exposed us to the world of humanistic learning. Excit

ed by our discovery, we trained in Yoga, Counselling and NLP and quickly changed our name from 'Land of Scholar Tours' to 'Asana' (meaning yoga posture), we stopped moving between Dublin and Kerry and settled in Cahersiveen, an incredible little town (Land of Scholar tours was a mobile English language programme for adults) on the famous Ring of Kerry. Our approach to learning became more holistic -meaning that we became more and more aware of the need to see our students as sentient beings rather than the language learning part of the brain! Having the good fortune to work in a place that is blessed with the most beautiful nature imaginable, made our journey towards more holistic teaching all the more enjoyable. Music is another theme that runs through Asana, and like Nature, it becomes yet another portal into the soul world that is so evident in a mystical place like South West Kerry. Most of our team has done the Camino de Santiago at some stage over the years and this too has becomes another strand of the many cloths that has woven the philosophy at the heart of Asana. More recently, we have branched into Teacher Training and Volunteering in India, giving future teachers an opportunity to get their teaching practice as part of a very worthy educational project in a developing school. We are eternally grateful to the incredible teaching colleagues, host families and local service providers that have made our work possible. Thank you.

Goodbye March

Other than that , it was all about work and life skills, including experiences for our young Italian visitors.

And just as important - an opportunity to immerse themselves in Irish culture.

Asana Easter Work Experience Programme

Looking for a meaningful way to spend Easter in Ireland?

Our 1 week immersive Work Experience Programme combines English language learning, life skills development and real- world work experience in a supportive, rural Irish environment.

Students improve their confidence in English while gaining practical work experience in a different country.

In Ireland, we don’t let the weather define our day. Our “indoor” activities take place twice a week and students can choose which one to join. Most of the time, they naturally end up outdoors, unless the weather is truly extreme.

🥧Cooking brings students together to collaborate, learn practical skills, and connect with food and local traditions.
🤾Sports focus on movement, teamwork and well-being, building strength, coordination and healthy habits.
🎨Arts & crafts spark creativity, focus and hands-on learning, while connecting students with history and traditional skills.
🎭Music & drama encourage confidence, expression and connection, using voice and body to explore creativity and share experiences.

Each activity is unique, but they all share the same core values: creativity, well-being, practical skills and teamwork. Every session helps students grow, explore interests, build friendships, and enjoy moments of joy, discovery and self-expression in a supportive environment.

At Asana, you will experience a wide range of outdoor moments that will help you grow, connect and discover your best self in nature. Each activity brings something different to your journey: space to slow down, challenges that build confidence, meaningful conversations that spark new friendships and countless opportunities to feel joy simply by being outdoors.
