ped to run a successful centre in the UK for 4 years before opening her own centre. We offer a FREE assessment for all primary pupils. Our students work on an individualised learning programme. We work by:
- reinforcing material covered in school
- providing a stimulating and interesting learning environment for children
- using multi-sensory activities
- using IT to engage students
- setting achievable goals and giving weekly feedback to parents
- setting homework to reinforce the learning from our tuition sessions. We believe that every child should reach their full potential. Each student has a tailor-made programme to meet their specific needs, whether they are struggling in class, have special needs or are gifted in Maths or English and need further enrichment.

What would make THIS school year better for your child?

Not necessarily a particular grade.

Think BIGGER than that.

Would you like them to...
💚 Feel more confident?
📖 Read without struggling?
➗ Stop saying “I'm rubbish at Maths”?
🙋 Put their hand up in class?
🧠 Know HOW to study?
📝 Feel more prepared for exams?
😊 Stop dreading a particular subject?

Because those are the things that often come BEFORE the better results.

At Emerald Education, we work with children right from Primary through to Leaving Certificate.

Some need help filling gaps.
Some need exam support.
Some need extension and challenge.
And some simply need someone to slow things down and explain it differently.
Maths • English • Science • Irish • French • German • History • Geography

If you'd like this school year to feel different, send me a message and tell me a little about your child.

We'll take it from there. 💚

Small steps, big results.

Secondary school parents, this one's for you. 📚

Especially if you heard any of these last year...

“I don't understand it.”

“I'm just bad at Maths.”

“I can't remember any of this.”

“I hate Irish.”

“I don't know what to write.”

“I studied loads and it didn't come up.”

Sometimes it all feels a bit too much. But September gives us something really useful.

TIME.

Time to find the gaps before they become bigger.

Time to work on difficult topics.

Time to learn how to study properly.

And time to build confidence before exams start looming.

This year we have tuition available across:

➗ Maths
📚 English
🧪 Science
🇮🇪 Irish
🇫🇷 French
🇩🇪 German
🌍 Geography
📜 History

Including Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate support.

If there's a subject that caused far too much stress last year, let's tackle it earlier this time.

📩 Message me about September availability.

And they're back! 🎒✏️💚

For lots of primary children, today is the first day back at school.

The problem your child had last year probably didn’t disappear over the summer…

New teacher. New classroom. New books. New routines.
And hopefully lots of excitement too!

But the start of a new school year can also be when parents begin thinking about the things that were a little difficult last year.

Maybe reading wasn't as fluent as you'd hoped.Maybe spelling is still a battle.
Maybe number facts or times tables aren't secure.

Or perhaps your child CAN do the work, but just doesn't have much confidence in themselves.

September is a lovely time to tackle those things.

We don't need to wait until a child is really struggling.

A little support now can stop a small gap becoming a much bigger one later.

We're currently allocating our Primary tuition places for the new term, including support with Maths, reading, spelling and English.
If there's something you'd like your child to feel more confident about this year, send me a message. 💚

Small steps, big results.

“You can’t teach Maths with Top Trumps.”

Me: Watch me. 👀

One of the biggest mistakes we can make with maths is thinking that learning always has to look like this:

Worksheet.
Questions.
Answers.
Repeat.

Sometimes, I bring out the Top-Trumps-style cards instead. 😁

And suddenly we can work on everything from times tables to algebraic expressions

And there’s another important part.

A student who groans when they see a page full of algebra or fractions might be quite happy to pick up a card and try to beat me. 👀

Same mathematical thinking.

Completely different experience.

Because sometimes the best way to get a child thinking about maths is to make it feel a little less like a maths lesson.

Small steps, big results. 💚

DM me to chat about how I can help your child.

Today is CAO Offers Day, and for some students, today will bring excitement. For others, there may be disappointment.
When I left school in Scotland at 18, I didn’t quite reach the grade threshold I needed for the courses I had provisional places on.
I was devastated.
I wanted to be a teacher, and 18-year-old me genuinely thought that door had closed.
But after the initial disappointment, I had to think, OK, if this route isn’t going to work, how else can I get there?
I took a year out, worked in an office and went to college in the evenings to improve my grades.
And then I found another route.
I received an unconditional offer from the University of Reading, trained as a teacher and went on to have a long career in education, become a deputy headteacher, run my own education centre and, years later, complete my Master’s degree.
So if you didn’t get the offer you hoped for today, be disappointed. It’s OK to feel that.
But please don’t think your dream is over.
Sometimes the destination stays the same. It’s just the route that changes. 💚
Small steps, big results.

💔 Today we lost Dolly Parton. And what a legacy she leaves behind.

Most of us will immediately think of the music, the big personality, the humour and, of course, some absolutely unforgettable songs.

But as a teacher and tutor, there’s another part of Dolly’s life that I’ve always admired.

She gave children books. Millions and millions of them. 📚

Dolly started the Imagination Library in 1995, inspired by her own father, who couldn’t read or write. Her idea was beautifully simple, children should have books of their very own, regardless of their family circumstances.

And that idea grew.

By this summer, the Imagination Library had gifted more than 325 million books to children around the world.

Ireland became part of that story in 2019. Here, children in participating areas can receive a carefully chosen book through the post every month, completely free, from birth until the age of five.

We need children to love books.

Dolly Parton understood that.

She may be remembered around the world for her music, but there are millions of children who have grown up with books in their homes because one woman decided that helping children to read mattered.

That's a pretty incredible legacy to leave behind.

Rest in peace, Dolly. ❤️📚

You certainly made the world a little brighter, one book at a time.

If you could change ONE thing about your child’s learning right now, what would it be?
Would you love them to...

✨ Feel more confident in maths?
📚 Read more fluently?
✏️ Find spelling or writing easier?
🧠 Remember what they’ve learned?
📖 Cope better with homework?
🎓 Feel less overwhelmed by exams?
💚 Or simply stop saying, “I can’t do it”?

Sometimes it isn’t about a child needing to work harder.

Sometimes there’s just a gap that needs filling, a concept that hasn’t quite clicked yet, or they need something explained in a different way.

And that’s exactly what we do at Emerald Education Centre.

We find out where the difficulty is, start from there, and build things up step by step.

Because small changes in understanding can make a huge difference to confidence.

So, if you could change just ONE thing about your child’s learning this school year, what would it be?

👇 Tell me in the comments or send me a private message.

And if you’re looking for support for the new term, September bookings are now open.

Message me with your child’s age/year group and the subject they need help with, and I’ll talk you through the options. 💚

Small steps, big results.
