Bushcraft, brightly coloured rainbows and brownies that didn’t last 5 mins, just another busy day in Bright Sparks!

We have been so busy since we came back to school! We ended 2023 with a Xmas disco and some amazing face painting by our talented staff in the senior room! We were blown away by the creativeness at our first talent show, from original songwriting and dancing, piano playing and poetry. We got back to baking and cooking, definitely a winner with everyone! Lots of lovely sweet and savoury treats have been made in the last few weeks. Our seniors did some amazing self portraits last week and we also had a clay workshop with Ali from me and the moon. Our juniors made some fabulous heart cookies today for valentines, I didn’t even get a picture!! Lots of fun planned for February, hopefully the weather will comply and we can get planting!

We wrapped up for our nature walk to collect leaves for our hedgehogs. We also made a few nests outside just in case our hedgehog friends needed somewhere to rest 🦔 🦔🦔🦔 our seniors are enjoying their weekly engineering and inventing challenges, more pics to follow!

I know it’s not Halloween yet! But for anyone interested, this books out very quickly every year. Can definitely recommend it 😊

We had a very busy start to the school term! We welcomed everyone back to school including all of our new junior infants who have settled in really well! Lots of outdoor play, mud kitchen, chalk and learning about insects and bugs and their habitats. Our juniors made bug hotels which they placed around the school 🐞 Our seniors had a visit from the rediscovery centre, and learnt lots of interesting facts and had a great afternoon creating using waste materials. The chill is starting to appear! And Halloween 🎃 is only around the corner! Lots of spooky fun ahead 👻 🎃👻🎃👻🎃

The storytelling tent! A lot of tired and happy children today after a very busy art day 2023. We may be using the tent soon for some rest and relaxation 😊😊

Today our 6th class boys Alex, Eoin & Freddie had their last baking session, it was really lovely to spend time with them and hear all the news in the wind down to the end of the school year. The boys have been with us since 1st class, and it’s been a pleasure! Funny, kind, generous and a great inspiration to our younger children, whom they enjoy spending time with. We will miss them, but wish them the best of luck as they embark on their new journey into secondary school 🍀 good luck boys!
