How do we learn to write?

We need to prime our muscles and our brains! In the early years, most of our learning takes place through hands-on experience. Activities like those shown above prepare children for the task of writing and using our hands with any kind of accurate intention. Our fine motor skills!

Activities include:

Play dough, putty and marla: start with play dough and move on to the harder materials, builds up strength.

Dot markers

Scissor work

Elastic band shape creation

Pegboards

Threading

Using tweezers to pick up small objects

Scooping and pouring

Stencils

Stickers

And so much more!

First year making a wreath with the children! A metal frame, metal wire to attach each bunch and lots of foraging for natural materials. Absolutely beautiful 😍
