Welcome to the page of Aravon 150. In 2012 we will celebrate 150 years of Aravon, Ireland’s oldest Preparatory School and one of the country’s leading Independent Junior Schools.

In the 150 years since its foundation in 1862, Aravon has prided itself on ensuring that the school is a very special place in which children grow, learn and develop.

2012 will be a landmark year of celebration at Aravon. We’re planning plenty of events for pupils past and present.

We want to hear from as many Old Aravonians who have stories they would like to share with pupils past and present or who simply want to join with us in our school community to participate in these celebrations.

Aravon 150’s calendar of events includes an exhibition of artefacts and memorabilia of the school’s teaching past and its personalities, the performance of a specially-commissioned musical work celebrating Aravon’s history, and a gala banquet ball in the grounds of the school at Rathmichael, Co. Dublin, among many other events.
