A few little insider bits about me and my journey into children’s yoga… 💛
I’m originally from Germany, and I’ve always loved working with children.
Growing up, I helped look after my three younger siblings and lotsa cousins, then became a group team leader for german summer camps as a teenager and in my early 20s I travelled and worked abroad as an Au Pair and summer camp leader across English-speaking countries — partly for the adventure and the fun working with littles, and partly to improve my English! 🌍
🧘♀️ I’ve now been teaching children’s yoga for over 12 years. While having been a yoga practitioner since my early 20s - My journey into this work was inspired by my daughter, who was born with a heart condition. Becoming a mum to a child with additional needs opened my eyes to how powerful movement, breath, connection and calm can be for children — and inspired me to train as a children’s yoga teacher.
In 2014, I took the very training I now help teach, and it gave me the confidence, courage and motivation to turn children’s yoga into my main profession.
Since then, I’ve specialised in working with children with additional needs, sharing yoga in schools, with organisations supporting children with additional needs and in one-to-one settings for over 10 years. 💛
🔔 I’m also a certified Sound Therapy & Sound Yoga Facilitator, trained in working with children, and I love bringing sound into my sessions too.
I was very lucky to train with Peter Hess, the German founder of Sound Massage in the West, which has become another beautiful part of my work.
And for the last 7 years, I’m also a teacher trainer, supporting others on the same training journey that once gave me the confidence to follow mine.
I’m a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance UK, but perhaps the most important thing I’ve learned hasn’t come from a certificate…
It has come from the children. ❤️
Every child I’ve taught — and my own two daughters — continues to teach, inspire and motivate me in ways I could never have imagined.
And I feel incredibly lucky that this is what I get to do. ✨
