🌿 BFETC Green Committee – Year in Review 2025/26 🦋
Another fantastic year of learning, action and collaboration! 💚 Together, we've continued to make sustainability part of everyday life across BFETC, creating opportunities for learners, staff and our wider community to learn, participate and take positive action.
This year we've:
🚀 Launched new Green Skills Induction Programmes.
🌍 Developed new and improved Green Campus Training through our Sustainability Hub.
🌱 Launched the BFETC Biodiversity Zone, bringing together biodiversity projects, learning resources and opportunities to connect with nature.
📚 Delivered Climate Justice and Environmental Sustainability QQI modules.
💡 Supported staff through sustainability focused CPD.
🐝 Hosted our Sustainability & Bees Community Learning Event as part of the 2026 AONTAS Adult Learners' Festival.
🍽️ Promoted sustainable living through our No Waste Cooking demonstration.
🦇 Installed handmade bat boxes created through our Climate Justice projects.
🎨 Delivered Sustainable Art & Upcycling Projects, encouraging creativity through material reuse.
👕 Partnered with Understory to deliver a Sustainable Fashion Workshop.
♻️ Opened our permanent BFETC Campus Swap Rail.
🌿 Continued developing the BFETC Campus Garden and installed rainwater harvesting systems.
🦋 Supported pollinators through No Mow May, Let It Bloom June & Help Them Fly July.
🖼️ Launched Walk of Life, West Wicklow Youthreach's virtual exhibition exploring identity, sustainability and global citizenship.
