How do we deal with these feelings about the Corona spread?

We cannot deny that the Corona Virus Pandemic could instil fear, anxiety and uncertainty in people.

Do not forget, we can only control ourselves, what we think, how we feel and how we behave, we cannot control others or how things evolve around us.

As part of it, it is necessary to give deep consideration to our own mental health. It is necessary to accept the present situation, It is necessary to accept our feelings as they arise, work through them and talk about them. Avoiding and ignoring negative feelings could lead to deeper feelings of anxiety. Being aware of, talking about and accepting any negative feeling that arises is a good coping mechanism.

Now is time for practice!

Dr. Stephen Porges who is the author of The Polyvagal Theory for which he is famous, brings arguments for contemplative practice. Practices like prāṇāyāma (control of breath), meditation, yoga-āsana and chanting all have the effect of ‘toning the vagus nerve’ and cultivating the parasympathetic nervous system, which governs the ‘rest and restore’ response of our bodies.

Enjoy!

It is important to take fresh air and to exercise every day while keeping social distance, either doing sports outdoors/indoors or working the garden, especially now as Springtime has come.

Weather is beautiful right now so we could walk, run or walk barefeet to ground ourselves and reduce inflamation in the body during these stresfull times. We could plant and pot or paint the outdoors furniture. We could practice sports skills with children where is the case.

Indoors we can also create a routine, anything that makes our body respond, either if it is yoga with The Sancturay online or any type of Yoga from Iyengar to Vinyasa

We could try chi qong, tai chi, or the 5 tibetan exercises https://www.healthline.com/health/5-tibetan-rites or any martial arts, or pliates or even dancing on our favourite tune.

We need to make sure we give our body the appropriate level of fitness and health it needs to stay healthy and immune to any outside and outside stimulus.

Happy Monday everyone! How are we all? Are you ready to roll onto another week of mind, soul and body care?

This week we recommend a few resources for mind training. Mind training is a very important aspect of ourselves. We as humans do this through reading, studying, thinking, analysing etc.

If you are looking for resources, UNESCO opened up their digital library to the world wide public: https://www.wdl.org/en/

You can also access the world book online for free: https://www.worldbookonline.com/

If you have children, to keep them occupied, access for free https://www.twinkl.ie/ using the offer code IRLTWINKLHELPS as well as https://www.topmarks.co.uk/.

Dublin Zoo are providing activity sheets and live camera footage of the animals with a different animal everyday. https://www.dublinzoo.ie/news/dublinzoofun/

These are only a few of them. If you know of any other resources, please share them here with us for everyone to see. Thank you and please SHARE!
