“Just eat healthier, cut out the rubbish and get back exercising”.

Before you join the local gym this January, read this..

Why motivation is bo****ks for losing weight..
Motivation comes from wanting to achieve a goal.
It’s the key in the ignition that sparks you to act or contemplate taking action.
The vehicle that will bring you to your end goal is discipline.
Discipline = doing what needs to be done whether you’re feeling motivated or not.
How do you build discipline?
There’s 3 principles you need to follow when creating a weight loss process that you’ll be disciplined with:
1. Changes must be easy to do e.g. go for a 10 minute walk at lunchtime.
2. Changes must be enjoyable e.g. eating food you enjoy.
3. Your end goal must have a strong psychological importance to you e.g. I want to lose weight because I want to be around for my kids for as long as possible.
When you don’t tap into these 3 principles..
You’re going to be inconsistent.
Up and down with your weight, getting p*ssed off with yourself..
Thinking “I know what I need to do, why can’t I just do it?”
Well, now you know.

“Time is my biggest problem or am I just using that as an excuse?”
There’ll always be challenges when trying to lose weight.
People that stay overweight, wait for the perfect conditions to start (which never arrive or never last).

Why meal plans fail MISERABLY!!
I remember an old rugby coach gave us an off-season meal plan.
Re: Alcohol – if you’re going to drink – drink red wine.
I had no nutritional knowledge then but I did know one thing..
There wasn't a snowballs chance in hell that ANYONE was going to stick to that.
Whatever the intention was behind it, if no one is going to adhere to it = it’s pointless.
Yes, a diet has to produce results BUT..
The MOST IMPORTANT indicator of success is the dieter’s adherence to the diet.
Because even if the diet does produce results (which most of them do)..
If you can’t stick to it, what’s the f*cking point?
I could tell all my clients to cut out carbs and just eat chicken and veg for all their meals.
And they would lose a sh*t tonne of weight.
But they would also be quickly back to square one, scratching their heads, wondering where it all went wrong?
You don’t need a meal plan.
I’ve never given a client a meal plan.
I’ve never told a client to not eat or drink something.
Instead, we focus on strategies:
➡️Reduce snacking
➡️Manage portion sizes,
➡️Manage hunger,
➡️Manage social occasions.
So that they can still eat what they want, when they want but in a more controlled manner.
Eventually reducing their overall intake to a point where they lose a sh*t tonne of weight..
Consistently, reliably and sustainably.
