Message for all MTU students

👉To enhance the security of your accounts and protect sensitive information, you will have noticed a nudge prompting you to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) using the Microsoft Authenticator mobile app when accessing your myMTU account.

👉MFA provides an additional layer of protection by requiring not only your password but also an approval from an authentication app, which is easily accessible on your mobile device. This makes your account more secure and better protected against unauthorized access. It is also a more secure method compared to receiving an SMS message with a PIN code or getting a Voice Call.

👉Please setup the Authenticator app asap, if you have not already done so, as the Authenticator app will become the default authentication method for logging in with your .ie account on the 4th of February.

After the 4th of February you will be required to configure the Authenticator app and use this for any MFA authentication.
