I managed to finish a commissioned mural after two days.

It was probably the most terrifying and at the same time fascinating commission I’ve ever done. I was scared of it because I had never painted such a huge face before.

The photo completely doesn’t capture the scale of this mural - it’s actually really massive 🙂

Another painting finished.

Apparently, adulthood means we stop watching cartoons, start paying bills, and everything has to make sense. And yet, something doesn’t quite add up, because grown adults still find genuine joy in these stories. And honestly, that’s a good thing.

There’s something beautiful about continuing to feed our inner child, despite all the seriousness of everyday life. With colour, movement, absurdity and humour. Simply because we can, without needing to justify it.

Painting something like this is a pleasure in itself, and even more so when it can be given to someone else. Because a bit of cartoon energy in the adult world isn’t a weakness. It’s a survival skill.

The next painting is now finished.

While working on it, I didn’t expect so many thoughts about my own inner monster to surface. That part of us we often ignore, push away, or pretend doesn’t exist. Yet it’s simply there. Quiet, watchful, present.

I came to realise that each of us carries such a monster within. And that it isn’t purely something bad. It is a part of who we are. Without it, we wouldn’t be whole. It holds our fears, our boundaries, our instincts, and that raw energy that so often pushes us toward change.

It was a moment of pause and an inward look. Without judgement, without escape. With curiosity and acceptance of what is uncomfortable, yet real.
