Leanne Anastasi started studying the piano at a young age in Malta obtaining all grade examinations from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. She then pursued her studies obtaining the Associate, Licentiate and Fellowship qualifications from the Trinity College of Music, London. Leanne has attended consultation lessons/masterclasses with various local and foreign pianists/musicians such as Cynthia Turner, Andrew Ball, Michael Laus, Charles Camilleri, Christopher Wiltshire and David Wright. She has also collaborated with various Maltese composers such as the Late Professor Charles Camilleri and Professor Gordon Zammit, having premiered a number of their compositions in Malta and also abroad. Apart from appearing in concerts as solo pianist, Leanne has performed with various ensembles and orchestras such as the ‘St. Paul’s Metropolitan Orchestra’, ‘La Vallette Clarinet Quintet’, ‘Lydeanne Duo’ , ‘The Pleroma’ and ‘The Euphonic Duo’. Anastasi is very sought after as accompanist, appearing with a number of renowned vocalists and instrumentalists. She has performed in most prestigious venues allover Malta and has also participated in a number of festivals in the UK, Italy, Greece and Tunisia. Apart from performing, Leanne has a passion for teaching, and also holds a teaching warrant. She has for the past 30 years successfully entered students for piano practical and theory of music grade and diploma examinations. Positions held by Anastasi apart from running her own private studio in Castlerea, Ireland :

- Teaching Music Appreciation at primary level (various schools in Malta);
- Teaching piano practical and theory of music at secondary level (various schools in Malta);
- Pianist at various ballet studios in Malta;
- Piano accompanist/repetiteur at the Malta School of Music.

Music education is one of the best things that parents can give their children.

Learning how to play an instrument helps students in many ways :

It helps a child's self discipline, self expression, reasoning, problem solving and creative thinking.

Get in touch by sending a private message here or on 0830292203 for more details about piano lessons by Leanne at Bellanagare (only few minutes away from Castlerea). Both 'in person' and 'online' lessons can be arranged.

Students will be given the option to learn just for fun or to enter for internationally recognised examinations. Other opportunities will be given such as performing in students' concerts including on-line mini concerts and other music activities.

While 'on-line' lessons will still be available to students who opt for it, 'in-person' lessons will be given safely and in strict adherence to public health advice.

Students' temperature will be taken before entering the studio and hand sanitizer will be provided. Whilst teacher will wear a mask/visor at all times, students are free to decide whether to wear one or not. Disinfecting of the piano keyboard and stool is done before the start of every lesson. The use of a 2nd piano keyboard is used to enable teacher to demonstrate to students hand positioning etc.

It is of utmost importance that students showing symptoms of a cold, cough etc not to attend for the lesson at the studio, but an 'on-line' lesson can alternatively be given in these circumstances.

A 'first' from a series of mini 'online' concerts held recently whereby students who attend piano lessons chose a piece of music from their repertoire to perform during this concert. Theory students were also encouraged to perform on their respective instrument. All students performed from their own home in the presence of their family members. It was as exciting as a live concert seeing all students nicely dressed for the event and observing some basic platform ethiquette. Details of our next online concert to be given soon.
