Hi everyone 😊

We are social care professionals and mums of children with dyslexia. Through supporting our own children, we’ve learned that many schools in Ireland aren’t yet using the most effective, evidence-based ways of teaching reading (often called the Science of Reading).

This approach focuses on explicitly teaching children how to break down words (decoding), which is essential for children who struggle with reading.

After advocating for our own children, we retrained in structured literacy approaches with Mary Moran (NCode/DCode) so we could support them properly at home.

We’ve now set up Crack the Code – Structured Literacy Programme to offer small group, after-school support for dyslexic and struggling readers.
