Good news for Erasmus+ cooperation – the UK will rejoin the programme in 2027, bringing new opportunities for learning, exchange and partnership.

This is a positive development for all sectors and a good moment for organisations to start thinking ahead.

Vappu was one of the standout moments of South East Technological University student Anna’s Erasmus+ in Finland – a national student celebration marked by a sea of colourful, patch‑covered overalls.

Her semester abroad may be over, but she has kept her own pair: blue and decorated with all the patches she collected. They remain, as she puts it, ‘a great memory from the whole Erasmus+ experience.’

Anna spent a semester in Finland as part of her South East Technological University undergraduate studies – an experience that helped her grow personally as well as academically.

How did she make friends and find her community abroad?
‘I met some of my friends through the common modules for Erasmus+ students provided by Turku University of Applied Sciences … I met more people by attending events organised by the Erasmus Student Network (ESN).’

During her third year at South East Technological University in Carlow, Cybersecurity student Anna spent a semester on Erasmus+ in Finland.

How would she sum up her international experience? ‘Too short … I enjoyed my time and the community the Finnish students have, and it was great to be a part of that … I am returning to Finland in the near future, and I’m staying in touch with my Erasmus+ friends – they are all so awesome.’

Four years after Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine began, solidarity means action.

Since 2022, has supported Ukrainians and Ukrainian organisations with over €208 million, ensuring learning, mobility and cooperation continue despite the war.

📌 51,680 Ukrainian nationals have participated in Erasmus+ mobility projects;
📌 €129 million invested in mobility alone;
📌 €79 million supporting cooperation, capacity building and Jean Monnet actions;
📌 Continued support for Ukrainian-language schoolbooks.

Education is resilience. Cooperation is resistance. Erasmus+ stands with Ukraine.

‘I loved exploring Slovenia’s natural beauty. Hiking in Triglav National Park, swimming in Lake Bohinj, and discovering the caves at Postojna and Škocjan were unforgettable experiences … Enjoying fresh seafood and swimming in the Adriatic were some of my happiest summer memories.’
