Eligibility criteria:

• Minimum area including reforestation sites 2 hectares.
• Age 5 to 30 years old
• Conifer, broadleaf, agroforestry and mixed forests including reforestation sites.

Thanks to Ardagh Services for their help with our Green Cert who were being assessed in Mayo Sligo Mart as part of the course. The students clearly had been practicing and all did really well. Thanks to Billy Loftus and the team in Mayo-Sligo Livestock Market for using their facilities and to the local Advisory staff in Ballina for helping out on the day.

** Teagasc Mayo staff member appointed as Regional Manager for Teagasc Galway / Clare Region **

Congratulations to our long serving colleague Enda Geoghegan who has been appointed as Teagasc Regional Advisory Manager in the Galway/ Clare Region. The appointment was approved at the Teagasc Authority meeting today, Wednesday, 7 October.

Enda will lead the Teagasc team delivering advisory services to farmers and educational courses through the advisory offices in the two counties.

From a beef faming background in Mullingar in County Westmeath, Enda started working for Teagasc as a REPS planner in Crossmolina in 2001. He is currently a Climate Change and Sustainability Advisor based in Teagasc Ballina. Before that he was a Drystock Advisor in county Mayo.

We wish Enda all the best in the new role.
