Reminder to all parents, you will need a Public Services Card to avail of the new National Childcare Scheme.👍

The Public Services Card (PSC) will be the only way by which parents can access the new National Childcare Scheme when it goes live in October, despite a ruling from the Data Protection Commissioner (DPC) that the card is unlawful when applied to State services other than welfare.

So much effort has gone into this weeks Greatest Showman theme! Our children and staff have made fantastic decorations and snacks and lots of parents got involved and made excellent costumes. So much fun was had by everyone involved😊

RTE Investigates: Creches- Behind Closed Doors

Following the very disturbing RTE Investigates programme last week we have received countless calls, emails, gifts and messages offering support and thanks to all our staff at HighCare for the hard work, dedication and care shown to the children in our care. The programme was devastating for parents and staff working in the sector alike. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents who took the time to get in touch with us, it means so much to us to hear your messages of confidence in our practice.

We would like to reassure parents that as always we have an open door policy and you are welcome to come visit your child at any time throughout the day. Please feel free to discuss any concerns you may have following the programme with a member of staff and if you wish to view any other areas of the centre such as sleep rooms, please do not hesitate to ask.

Early Childhood Ireland have issued a press release calling for all statutory authorities involved to take action to ensure the distressing matters raised are fully investigated and addressed. We have attached the link and will continue to keep you up to date on the proceedings as they unfold.

At a time where confidence in the sector is low it can be disheartening for passionate and dedicated staff to continue to be motivated and positive. We are holding a staff appreciation day this Friday to thank our team for the amazing work they do each day!

Following the nice weather and holiday season the children have become entranced by all things beach and summer related. This week the children created their very own world under the sea complete with water, rocks and sea creatures! Today they enjoyed their under the sea party and had lots of fun making homemade sea treats 😊🐠🦀🐙🌊

We would like to wish Belen all the very best as she sets off on her new adventure to South America. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication, Belen has worked in the Purple Room for almost two years and will be greatly missed by her colleagues, children and their families. Lots of fun and excitement today as the children prepared their very own Afternoon tea party. We grew our very own cucumbers to make cucumber sandwiches, picked our own flowers to decorate the table and baked lots of delicious cupcakes! 🧁🥒🌼
