On Thursday 6th March, St. Teresa's Special School held its first Art Exhibition, displaying the pupils work in response to artworks on loan from The Glucksman Library Gallery UCC. Former Principal of St. Teresa’s, Anita O’Reilly cut the ribbon to officially open the exhibition, which was attended by pupils, staff, parents and members of the Board of Management. It was a wonderful celebration of the pupil’s creativity, self-expression and collaboration.

Thank you for visiting our school yesterday, we had great fun yesterday creating our unique canvases.

We are delighted to announce that St Teresa’s Special School is one of 184 schools participating in The Creative Schools Initiative 2024-2026.

Being part of The Creative Schools Initiative is a wonderful opportunity to enhance the pupils learning experience through arts and creativity. This initiative will help integrate the arts into teaching and foster a sense of worth.

The Creative Schools Initiative builds partnerships between schools and the arts/cultural sectors. This will make a positive impact on our school community.

We are excited to have recently had an opportunity in which the pupils explored, engaged and responded to two pieces by Irish artists on loan from The Glucksman Library Gallery UCC, Barrio by Deirdre Breen and Equality by Fatti Burke. Watch this space to see the art the pupils were inspired to create.
