Appreciation post 2:

Following Active Week last week, we’d also like to thank Jenna Nolan from The Workshop Dance Academy and Tony Gregory, local outdoor sports and fitness personality, for their input into our Active Week.

Jenna brought great energy to our pupils, teaching hip-hop and country dance moves galore. The enthusiasm from our pupils was fantastic to see. Tony’s obstacle course and games and activities brought a unique, fun way for the children to build teamwork skills. Well done to 4th Class who won the class competition, earning a trip to the shop for ice cream!🍦

APPRECIATION POST No 1:

As part of last week’s activities for Active Week, volunteers from Bailieborough Shamrocks joined us to conduct sessions from Junior Infants to 2nd Class. After starting off outside, the weather forced proceedings indoors where the children got a chance to practice basic skills and get a feel for Gaelic football. Huge thanks goes to coaches Jim, Alma, Padraic and Paul for their time and energy. Our pupils participated enthusiastically and had great fun.

Gaelic training takes place weekly for all children from Junior Infants upwards and is an excellent way to be active, learn teamwork skills, meet people from across the community and most importantly, have fun.

Please see below for details if you wish to contact the relevant underage coaches about your child joining Gaelic football:

Last week was Active and Well-Being Week at St Anne’s. Enjoy some snaps from tug-o-war on Thursday and Sports Day on Friday. The weather played ball and allowed us to enjoy a wonderful day of outdoor activities for all ages. We finished the day with ice-cream treats kindly sponsored by our PA and Principal Mc Adam, followed by the highlight for many; an opportunity for those boys and girls awarded Golden Tickets for full attendance in May to soak poor Mr Mc Adam to the bone, in what was a notably chilly breeze! Thanks to all staff for making the day possible, and in particular to Ms Conlan and Mr O’Connor for overseeing the events of the week. Well done to all our pupils for their wonderful participation and enthusiasm. It was a truly memorable week. 🏃‍♀️ ⚽️

We will follow up with some posts of appreciation to members of the wider community that came in to enhance the enjoyment during Active Week over the coming days. 💪
