After an incredible career in education, our Principal, colleague, and friend, Sean Connolly is retiring from teaching.
Sean dedicated 23 years of service to St. Brigid’s College, with a remarkable 19 of those years spent as Principal.
Beginning his career in the school as an Engineering, Technical Graphics and LCVP teacher before becoming Principal, Sean did far more than teach subjects and skills — he mentored, guided, and supported generations of young people throughout their school journey.
As Principal, Sean also oversaw tremendous growth in the school’s population and helped shape St. Brigid’s College into the thriving school community it is today. His leadership, vision, and commitment played a central role in the continued development and success of the school.
Sean’s love of sport, in particular hurling, afforded students many wonderful opportunities over the years and helped foster a strong sporting culture within the school. Alongside this, Sean was a huge supporter of the wide range of extra-curricular activities on offer in St. Brigid’s College, always recognising the importance of providing students with opportunities to grow, participate, and succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
The positive impact Sean has had on the lives of thousands of students, colleagues, and the wider school community will be felt for many years to come.
Thank you, Sean, for your years of dedication, leadership, friendship, and inspiration. We wish you a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement filled with health, happiness, and plenty of new adventures.
