For anybody wondering how the crafting is going. We got out first bunch of 3. Each set of colours has taken 4-5 hours and Ari is very glad she didn't knit them 😄 she'd still be on the blue.

Some of you may know that our Ari enjoys her bit of crotchet.
From midnight tonight, after all classes etc are done, Ari will be crafting for 24 hours to help raise money for Saoirse the domestic violence charity.
She will start with scrunchies in the logos colours. If she runs out of hair ties she will move to lap blankets that are being donated at christmas or if she has hair ties and runs out of the logo colours she will move to hair ties in any colour.
We have supplies snacks and dog walks to mind Mike and Gypsy while she is busy. It may be the 1st time in 6 months that she has caffeine to stay awake that long.

A photo from our EARLY morning walk today.
It shouldn't need to be said but high heats are not safe for the dogs.
With Bagenalstown due to hit 28 degrees today, all walks are getting done early or late and if they don't all get done that's fine. I'd rather a dog miss a walk than die on one and that is a very very likely event with the heat we are due to get today.
Dogs with shorter muzzles or squished muzzles are not safe in the heat regardless of age, colour, or health. Black or dark dogs will suffer more. Over weight dogs will suffer more. Dogs who are not well may suffer more. Young or old dogs may suffer more.
Shade, cool water, and an emergency vets number should all be available when this heat comes in. There is no point asking on Facebook groups where the best emergency vet is in your local when your dog has heatstroke.

Due to wind and lawnmower issues we are unable to run our Agility lesson tomorrow but 2 oclock we will still have our beginners obedience class and of course a cuppa afterwards 😀

The Oak Park Show - Classic & Vintage Car Show and Family Fun Day is returning to Carlow Rugby Football Club this Sunday 10th May 2026!

A great day out for all the family, featuring a display of vintage and classic cars and tractors from pre-war to the 1980s, along with live entertainment, jive dancing, dog show, auto jumble (must be booked in), bric a brac and more!

Admission: €5 per car. Open: 9am for exhibitors / 10am for the general public.

Our Saturday classes run every week at 2pm and are open to the public, you just need to turn up with a hungry dog, properly fitted equipment (we dont need any escape attempts!), and treats.
They last an hour, are €15, and its a drop in so you commit to what you can. Give us a message if you are not sure if it'll suit your dog
