But be careful! There are lots of false friends too (words that sound alike but have different meanings)

For example,

Embarazada means Pregnant, not Embarrased!

Library means Biblioteca, not Librería that actually means Bookstore

If you want to introduce yourself, you will say "Presentarme". The word "Introducir" means insert!

You already know some Spanish! There are many English words that are similar in sound and meaning to ones. They are called Cognates.
For example, these words have the same meaning & similar sound in and English:
Urgent - Urgente,
Liberty - Libertad,
Air - Aire,
Access - Acceso
Echo - Eco
Rent - Renta

¡Buenos días! This is a Cachapa, a Venezuelan traditional dish made of sweet corn. With butter and white fresh cheese is absolutely delicious! The people from Sabanero Venezuelan Artisan Cheese have brought this great dish (and the cheese) to Dublin. It definitely worth a try!

Cachapas (ka-chóp-az): we like to describe this specialty as a sweet corn pancake. It is made out of sweet yellow corn and is almost always served with fresh spun-paste cheese called "queso de mano". To make it a more complete meal, you can also add shredded beef or shredded chicken!
