Big smiles all around last Thursday as we unveiled our first textile wall hanging, created by first-year Bachelor of Education in Home Economics and Technology students from DCU and Technological University of the Shannon
Thank you to Professor Vincent Cunnane, President of Technological University of the Shannon, and Dr Anna Logan PFHEA, Interim Executive Dean of the DCU Institute of Education, for joining us for the unveiling.
Designed using 100% recyclable and upcycled materials, this unique piece highlights the synergy between Home Economics and Technology, while also reflecting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This student-led creation is intended to inspire future Home Economics and Technology students. We are proud to display it in the Department of Hospitality, Tourism & Leisure at TUS Athlone Campus. A special mention to TUS Lecturer and Home Economist Roisin Lydon for guiding the students with this project from concept to completion. A huge well done to all involved.
